View Full Version : ChefJade you better tell what you and PJ did in Vegas...

Nov. 17, 2011, 06:24 PM
Or I will!

Nov. 17, 2011, 07:23 PM
So what happens in Vegas should NOT stay in Vegas? :D

Nov. 17, 2011, 07:46 PM
Definitely not in this case ;)

Nov. 17, 2011, 08:19 PM
Hmm...sounds interesting!!

Nov. 17, 2011, 11:08 PM
Is PJ old enough to play in the casinos ? BTW CJ is very (extraordinarily) modest about her accomplishments with her horses. The biggest news is that he was being shown in a tandem class, right ?

Nov. 18, 2011, 01:15 AM
I saw video ;)

Nov. 18, 2011, 03:40 AM
Oh PJ was a very good boy. We do need the video and pictures posted!

Nov. 18, 2011, 11:58 AM
Modesty is one thing, depriving us the performance of a baby of a charter member of the COTH baby green support group is another story. She'll be here sooner or later, I sent her a message. I wish I could see her cute little blush when she reads this. C'mon, CJ, ride the tide of your glory!

Are any of the rest of you glad that you don't actually know me in real life?

Nov. 18, 2011, 12:16 PM
I was CJ's secret Santa a few years back so I heard a little about the wonderful PJ- it sounds like he is doing really well and I'd love to hear about it!

Nov. 18, 2011, 12:40 PM
Definitely sounds interesting!

It seems like only yesterday that PJ was born and I was looking at baby pics. Can't believe he's all grown up!

Gosh, now I really feel old!

Nov. 18, 2011, 10:44 PM
I heard tale of something good.

Do spill, CJ! (and there should be pictures and video to really appease us )

Nov. 18, 2011, 11:05 PM
Or I will!

LOL. We need the beans spilled!! Or at least a tiny little hint!!

You guys are way too sweet and funny. I figured with all the new folks on the board, PJ was old news... but since you all asked....

PJ rocked it in the big indoor stadium in the A/A hunters with a 1st and 3rd, and then was 4th in the NAL West Coast Finals. He was absolutely perfect those days. Not so much the first day when we had to show in the outdoor covered arena and he took off after the first jump, and generally put in a very heart-stopping round (not in a good way).

Video: Second Round NAL (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_4OcTZQPiw&list=LLga0gYnb1_HeRFQQMeobrCw&index=2&feature=plpp_video)

And just to see how far we have come, here is a pic from day 1. 1 Day Old (http://pets.webshots.com/photo/2000108700061259298RguVQF)

Those that go way back on COTH will remember me purchasing his mom, Jade, as a 2 year old. Now my baby has a baby! And I got a human baby in the oven too! So no more riding for me, but PJ will hopefully move up to the 3'3" derbies in Thermal with my trainer.

Anyway, I am a super proud mom. He was trotting changes in the baby greens at the start of the year and he is still only 5.

(Justice, you might be in BIG trouble come Thermal when I am there to document you horse show exploits).

And for anyone that hasn't been to the Vegas show, it was SO much fun - a real "indoors" feel. I hope to get back in shape in time to go again next year.

Ahhh! He looks fantastic! I thought he was just 4 this year for some reason. Time flies!!!

I remember you showing him in a hunter breeding class at the Oaks. I believe you had just taken him out of pasture and he did not have much of a tail. Look at how far he has come.

Yes, quite right! He still doesn't have much of a tail but now sports a very natural looking fakie.

Congratulations on the human baby. Have people started offering you cute white ponies yet? And now I feel really old on two accounts: both PJ whom I remember pre-conception and you whom I think I remember from maybe Onondarka Medal age.

Thanks guys! Major blushing going on here. I really do love my boy and I think the feeling is mutual. Having been there since day 1, we really have a special bond.

To answer some questions, PJ did have his jewels removed. Frankly, though he is adorable (IMO), he isn't stallion material. He's just a bit coarse and not such a great mover.

The canary breeches were discovered at a consignment shop many years ago. I had been searching high and low for YEARS and found them practically in my backyard. Tailored Sportsman side zips, no less! Though they were a little big at the time, I could still squeeze into them for Vegas. Shortly after I bought them I switched to jumpers so they were lovingly wrapped and stored securely for the last 7 years. Maybe I should fund my future horse shows by renting them out, they seem to be quite a hit!

Nov. 22, 2011, 01:30 AM
Congrats, CJ! You two look great. I can't believe PJ is so grown up. Where'd all that time go?

Nov. 22, 2011, 12:18 PM
Look at PJ all grown up! Wowza! I, too, remember the baby pictures, and I also remember the HB class where he was pulled from pasture just beforehand. Didn't he demonstrate some acrobatics at that show?

And I doubly congratulate you on your newest one baking. How exciting!

Huge news all around....Huge Congratulations!!

Nov. 22, 2011, 12:26 PM
That was a terrific ride, he is gorgeous, congrats on both PJ and the pregnancy.
