Hi all-
Ms. Luna has currently been going in a nice lovely D-ring similar to this (http://www.smartpakequine.com/korsteel-regular-dee-8081p.aspx?cm_vc=Search) one. She's strange because she prefers single jointed and skinny in diameter. She's got a big tounge in a little/narrow jaw.
Lately I've been thinking she wants more stability, but without any extra leverage. Anything with leverage or poll pressure just makes her curl. Any suggestions?

a full cheek snaffle w/ keepers will be more stable in the mouth.

A baucher will also provide a great amount of stability, but if you are doing hunters, would be a bit unorthodox.

I tried my horse (ottb) in a simple jointed rubber full cheek with keepers after trying several different bits on him. Oddly this is the bit he is happiest in. Not that it would work for your mare, b/c she likes a thinner bit. He loves the fat black rubber and really likes the stability of the bit. He was WAY too active in any french link i tried.

you could also try a myler mullen wrapped in sealtex.

my tb didn't like the french links until he started to understand consistent contact. now i ride him in a type2 kk ultra
