I've created a data base for the order of go that includes horse name, trainer, hometown state, and also whether they got in through regionals and scratched or got in off the waitlist. Does someone with a premium membership want to post it?

Sing Mia Song

It's an Excel file, so you should be able to download it with no problem--we just need a premium member!

vineyridge
Nov. 5, 2011, 08:47 PM
I'm a premium member and will post it for you. But it has to be small enough to fit the COTH parameters because I would have no idea how to shrink it. COTH only accepts .doc and .pdf files of less than 195.3 Kb

If you send it to me, I'll post it as an attachment to a post on this thread.

Right, so upload it to a public Google Doc then copy and paste the link here. That way all members can easily see it and you don't have to wait for a premium member to post it.

Yes, that's the better way; if COTH only accepts .pdf and .doc files, you can't upload it here anyway.

vineyridge
Nov. 5, 2011, 08:51 PM
You could also convert it to a jpeg by printing and scanning. COTH also accepts several different picture formats. But then it wouldn't be in a format that could be continuously updated.

...And that's why I suggested a Google Doc. It would allow members to contribute if they know a trainer that another poster doesn't.

(Also, if you wanted a jpeg, no need to print and scan; just take a screenshot.)

Peggy
Nov. 5, 2011, 09:02 PM
if you send it to me I can save it as a PDF and reduce it so it will fit on COTH. And do a Google doc with a public link if people want something they can download and manipulate. Just give me a few hours to have dinner with the parental unit and get back home.

And if a Google doc who you want to have editing rights on the original -- the world, just you.

OK, so what time would you expect the 90th trip?

Starts at 7:00, maybe about 2 minutes a trip, so... around 10:00?

That's a total guesstimate, since the 2 minutes/trip figure will depend on the course.

Let's put it this way- she will probably go sometime between 9:30 and 11:00.

Same for me.

Actually, it looks like someone is entering the info???

Someone was beginning to duplicate it, but that was actually a bad call as the rows were just hidden, not deleted.

So for future reference, if stuff disappears, DON'T re-enter it... It's likely just hidden, not deleted, and then someone has to go delete the duplicates which is a pain.

This link works for me.

The feed is a little wacky, though. Lots of buffering and pixelating. (Is that a word?) Sometimes the horse leaves the ground before the jump under him materializes. It's reminding me of the My Horse game on my phone!

Definitely more of a rider test than the scope test they had for the Medal.

That was the goal (the judges each designed a round - this is the course Kip designed)! There are no crazy-long distances, and I believe the option in-and-outs at jump 3 are slightly different lengths based on whether you do the oxer or vertical first.

MHM
Nov. 6, 2011, 07:32 AM
So on my feed, entry 14 is in the ring at 7:30. So if they stick with that pace, they should see about 30 riders an hour, for those who are trying to plan their viewing schedules. Plus add in a couple of drag breaks as the day goes on.

That was the goal (the judges each designed a round - this is the course Kip designed)! There are no crazy-long distances, and I believe the option in-and-outs at jump 3 are slightly different lengths based on whether you do the oxer or vertical first.

I love this course!

I'd bet they will have a drag break and update the standby after every 50 riders.

I have to tear myself away from my computer for a few hours, so please keep the updates coming, since I can check those on my phone. :)

I had all the same except I didn't have lexi...I would have chosen probably one of the last ones over her but that's me - and/or maybe how things look different over the video!

Anyone else faux judging?

I didn't count SCs rail - but it was a borderline call IMO - his horse sort of ran through the one stride but he also got into the one stride a bit tight...i probably would have had him higher if he hadn't had the rail....

fair judy
Nov. 6, 2011, 09:07 AM
Casady had the rail because he rode the inside track to the option, rider error imo but excuseable.

I am looking for someone to go around bounce option jump and do the left option on 3ab, turning inside on both fence 1 and fence 5 (grey wall) to 4ab. It is doable and would demonstrate flow in the first half of the course. this course is designed to be ridden a little flow-y in the first half and control demonstration of track and stride in the last, with a brilliant forward ride to the last.

the bounce has be be ridden from the landing to the ASPCA a bit direct and steadying up with deep seat to the 6 stride, then off your eye to bounce . How many strides did the sole rider who took the bounce option get..... 4?

I think kip will be looking hard at rails and rubs in the fan option. That one stride is meant to be ridden more to the left side.

A few more people have been trying the bounce (and succeeding). It actually seems to ride pretty nicely.

The more I watch, the more I love the course. I especially like the section of the course from the in-gate oxer to the fan options. Riders can adjust how bending the lines are to accommodate their horse's stride and their pace, but how accurate their ride is really shows up in how well the last few jumps come up.

She had a rough round because her horse was giving her a tough time. Overall she had an okay round but she moved up a little too much to the first fence, and she lost control after the jump before the oxer that passes the ingate. The one stride was a bit too twisty for my liking too
