View Full Version : Please help me help my procrastinating string bean sister find a pair of field boots.

She has known for two months that she needs a new pair and just now started looking. Oh, and she needs them by next Saturday.

Her calf is 13 3/4 around and she's 20" from knee to floor. You can see her dilemma.

Ariats aren't a good option for her. Any other suggestions?

She may be out of luck if she needs them by next Saturday! I have similar measurements, with a size 9 foot, and the only non customs I could find that came close were Beval Puissance and Deniros. BUT, they don't keep those odd sizes in stock and they have to be special ordered, which ends up taking 6-8 weeks anyway.

Her best bet at this point is to try to borrow from a similarly sized person.

I just bought a pair of Ovation's from Ebay. They way too big in the calf( They are 14 7/8 and I need about 13 7/8) But they fit in height( 21") and foot. I could find nothing else tall enough.( Besides custom.)
Good luck to her! I feel her pain.

Hrrrrmmm... the Tredstep Donatello's would fit in the calf, but would be short, although I have found that boots with a Spanish top can give you a bit of leeway.

The Tredstep DaVinci has tall options that start around 19" (depending on her foot size) AND has a calf that is very slim: http://www.smartpakequine.com/tredstep-da-vinci-field-boot-9484p.aspx. These could work too: http://www.smartpakequine.com/deniro-ottaviano-field-boot-8846p.aspx

What size does she need in the foot?

She needed a 9.5, and, thanks to the wonderful folks at Maryland Saddlery, was able to find something today. I have no idea what, but she's happy. Thanks for all the suggestions!
