Hey, Louise. So far all I've heard is that ESPN has the rights and this is one of the announcements I could find:

My apologies, there does not appear to be streaming, it was this press release that threw me from Dressage Daily:
http://www.dressagedaily.com/article/dressage-news-notes-brought-you-back-track-products-49

"The equestrain portion of the Pan Am Games will be October 16-29 with 130 athletes competing. USEF Netwrok will be covering the event with video coverage!"

I am hoping that means they will have video available later. But would like to see the Ecuador team go and not sure USEF will show videos of those rides. Julio Mendoza, Union Bridge MD and an Ecuador national is riding and I clinic with him a lot.

Pan American Games seem to be getting more coverage this time around than in the past. No complaints though, especially when we win a team gold.
Congratulations to all...riders, grooms, and proud owners !

Canada was Silver so qualifies for the Olympics, and all four riders are able to ride in the individual, so happy for our team.

Sort of like cracking a walnut with a sledgehammer.

Maybe, but I think it's nice that our team is made up of younger horses; rather than experienced GP horses who've been dropped down to Small Tour. We have a young team - Magic is 9, Paragon is 8, Big Tyme and Grandioso are 10. I believe Paragon is the only one who has shown GP - and that for the first time this year, at a national show.

I'm pretty proud of them. And I'm really, really excited to see some of these horses and riders again in the future. London, for instance.

I am so happy for Canada! London is Calling!!!

The American team was so strong, it was like cracking a walnut with a sledgehammer, but it was done in the right spirit, all horses were legitimate small tour horses, it's just that they are all super!!!!

I think Grandioso did a few Intermediare 2's, not sure if he ever did a GP. I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong!

Another Canadian connection, and a small brag -
Viva's Veroveraar (on the Guatamala team) is a Cdn bred horse by Viva Voltaire and out of Slim Sadie, by A Fine Romance!!!!

joiedevie99
Oct. 18, 2011, 12:09 PM
Anyone else find the rules a bit odd? They are enforcing the rule that only 3 from any one country can move on to the freestyle (so Cesar is out). However, they are not enforcing the rule that no country can earn more than two medals in an event. So the three US riders who move on can all win medals.

Sounds like they can't even find answers at the games about the 3 medal rule:

It looks as if the medal rule has been decided:

http://www.dressage-news.com/?p=13349

"In an apparent rule change that was not known by most nations, Pan Am Games organizers said that a single nation can win all three individual medals. They said the rule restricting the number of medals to be won by individuals from the same nation to two would not apply at these Games.

Dressage-news.com had questioned the rule several weeks ago as it could not be found in the Pan Am Games rules, but the International Equestrian Federation said that it was in the Pan Am Games charter. The Pan Am organizers confirmed it had been a rule that had been enforced at least once in the past but would no longer apply."

It may be unsportsmanlike, but I'm really excited about the prospect of seeing 3 Americans on the podium tomorrow. :D

I think they've decided it is NOT unsportsmanlike. It follows normal show and Olympic rules if individuals can win medals regardless of their nationality.

BTW, I was not impressed with Heather's freestyle. I know I'm in the minority, but I thought Festerling's was better (musically and interpretation). I hope they all do well, but I wish they has something snazzier.
