not as in "blinged out" or anything.
A tragedy happened today. As I was tightening my US Military stamped, antique cavalry spurs one of the straps broke
As this is not a popular style of spur configuration, I'm having some trouble finding a replacement.
I've found these (http://www.cavhooah.com/cav-shop/spurs/natural-leather-spur-straps.html), but that's definitely not a pretty color against black boots :dead:

Anyone have a link to somewhere that has my replacement spur straps? I'm guessing since the last ones lasted over 50 years, I shouldn't complain, right?

PSJ, I'm wondering if war reenactors (Revolutionary, Civil, Indian, etc) might have what you need? I believe they have websites devoted to authentic clothing and equipment, including cavalry kits. You might try Googling war reenactors and see what you find. (I read a terrific book,"Confederates In The Attic" by Tony Horwitz, all about his investigation of the CW and how it continues to affect people. He hangs out with serious Rebel reenactors, who discuss where and how they cultivate their vintage looks).

Good luck!

Those look easy to dye or darken with oil (and dirt). The combat boots are a very nice touch.

Just the thing for your next PSG test!

well, I've ordered the ugly ones and worst case senario I fail at dying them and send them to someone who can use them as a template to make me nice ones.
