Can someone explain?

Pre-Novice would be equal to american ??

and CNC* would be equal to a cic* or ??

You may have to let people know what height "pre-novice" is.

CNC* is CNC* throughout the world - its the FEI designation for a National level one day horse trial at 1* level - in the UK I am pretty sure its also called Novice - but sometimes a CNC will have some differences for jump dimensions.

CIC* is the FEI name (so international rules apply) for a International One Day Horse trial at 1* level.

Pre-Novice is equal to American Training & Novice is equal to American Preliminary.

Beginner Novice = 2'7"
Novice = 2'11"
Training = 3'3" (approximately 1 meter)
Preliminary = 3'7"
Intermediate = 3'9"
Advanced = 3'11"

These are the maximum cross country heights.
