View Full Version : County numbered tree sizes

How do they compare to the 'normal" sizes (aka M, MW, W)?

In the great saddle search I have discovered that as of today one of the 3 best saddle fits for her is an older (about 15 yo) County Competitor which the flap is stamped W showing it's a wide tree. Second best was a County with a M on the flap showing it's a medium (followed closely by a Bates, but that's another story).

Since I know what I want, I have been watching Ebay and have found a few County's in my price range. All older though in good condition. But they all seem to have numbered tree sizes (#3 fit, #4 fit, etc.) and I'm trying to figure out how those numbered sizes compare.

Anyone know what the scale for the numbered trees is?

From what I understand a #2 is a narrow, #3 is a medium, #4 wide, & the rare #5 Xtra-wide.

I do have a saddle that meets your specs that I am wanting to sell! You can PM me for the deets if you want!
