Arabians are pretty incredible that way. I've read and heard many times about Arabians going strong well into their thirties (and once I read about one in his early forties still eagerly self-loading into the trailer to go for trail rides!). What a fabulous breed.

Congrats to horse AND rider! :)

As a late comer to Arabs I was delighted to see "Mom". There's still hope for me. Check out this one too.

I tried to look up the story of the forty-something year old I had read about, and didn't see it but found a different story about a 42-year-old mare that still gallops down the trail and looks fabulous :)

Sx Staley's Gemini and Sx LaQuinta winning the 15 & over class at a major horse show. They were 29 at the time. Gem's last foal was born when he was in his 30s.

Serazim (sire of Snooze Alarm, among others) lived quite a long time too. His final foal crop, gave the son everyone so hoped for. He had very few sons, and most were raced and gelded, and then there was a dry streak, all fillies for many years, so it was awesome that his last foal crop included a full brother to Snooze, and a PB as well. http://public.fotki.com/hypoint/arabians/arabian_directory_s/serazim76bsskichief.html is the only photo I can find of him.
