Meet Boscoe! (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150250192926851.332508.558601850&type=1)

He is a 7 year old XC-loving bouncing ball of FUN! Tried him and instantly clicked, and we were off--stepping over all the Training stuff at Gemwood last weekend (after the show) like we'd known each other forever. That is a GREAT feeling.

It reminded me of the first time I jumped Gwen (which was after I bought her, actually) and that big "CLICK" sold him almost immediately. He's little, but the Prelim jumps looked quite small from up on his spotted back. :D

I'm waiting for one last phone call from the vet, but all was really, really solid in that department so now I'm just figuring out how to bring him home! :)

Sadly it's too late to enter (or be realistically prepared for) Richland, but I am hoping to get to some of the fall shows--we'll be sort of hard to miss!

He's gorgeous! You're right...he'd be hard to miss...and now QuickSilver becomes your best friend! ;)

I TOTALLY understand the "click" that you have at certain moments on certain horses. It's such a cool feeling to know that you and that horse have understood one another deeply. Love it!!!

Just made a trip to the tack store and stocked up on QuickSilver, vetrolin, and various green spot removers, LOL. And a winter blanket, and a stable sheet, and some new stirrups, and a saddle pad, and . . .

Christmas in July! :D

Congrats, he's gorgeous!

After having JWB's Appy for a while, I made a "no white near the ground" rule for future horse purchases. ;)

I know about that "click" thing; how great! He just looks like FUN!!

Small-ish is good; it's the bouncing ball part and the click part that matters.

Congrats! He's at my barn, and he is AWESOME! I've ridden him a couple times and he's a blast. Not to mention the cutest horse EVER. Very happy for your love connection!!

He looks like fun.

Don't worry about the grooming -- one thing I learned having a paint and a white mule is that they'll always photograph whiter than they are. And, really, the rest of us will only know how it looks it the pics. :D

Paints ... all the rage! Was he advertised and/or word of mouth?

deltawave
Jul. 31, 2011, 10:11 AM
PINTO, not Paint. :) :) (my Paint-barn upbringing, sorry, Paint is a breed, Pinto is a color). Breeding unknown. :)

It was sort of a little bit of both. When I went hunting I started with very much word-of-mouth--the world of Dream Horse and Equine.com is big and scary! But the seller's reputation (Team CEO) is sterling, and many of my trusted "sources" told me I should check out their horses for sale. It took me about 5 seconds to pick out the one I wanted. :D

Congratulations on your new partner.

So how many horse do you have now?

This remains a difficult question to answer. :D

With this one I will be the owner of three: Bonnie, Boscoe, and the Shetland Daisy. But SHE is pregnant with twins  and also living here is Keebler, who is not owned by me but we have a long-term living arrangement.

Three? Four? Six? All depends on how you look at it.

DW, just take the 5th. That is what I do when asked

Yesss, THANK YOU! (People make this mistake all too often, and it annoys the hell out of me. NOT every horse with Pinto coloring is a "Paint horse"; Paint is a registry restricted to Paints, QH Paints, and TBs who qualify. At least IIRC. My mare is by Art Deco, who is a Dutch WB, NOT a Paint! As you say, there are pintos of many breeds, though not every breed...Not Fresians or Fjords, etc. ;))

And congrats on your new horse, he is *lovely*, and very fancy :) Definitely a "WOW"! How especially tickled you must be to have that immediate click thing, where you feel like you were "born to ride this horse", a perfect recipe for a successful partnership. Good luck with him, and be sure to keep us posted!

So how many horse do you have now?

viney, that's like asking a lady her age. It's just not done in polite company.

(COTH might not qualify as polite company.)

Gail, glad to hear young Freddy has a new home. That horse's name still wins the greatest name contest, hands down! :D I had fantasized about getting some spandex black-and-white checked outfits for XC, or at least a saddle pad.

LOL! that would have been something to see!
But now you are going to stand out with your lovely new horse without the black and white spandex! ;)

The horse we are talking about is an AFR baby named, yes, Freddy Mercury.
His new owner, however, is changing it, to something more 'romantic' ;)

DW, he looks like a blast. When I was a kid, I wanted a horse that looked like the horse that Little Joe rode on Ponderosa -- a black and white pinto. And now you have one!

But I'm still so glad to be grooming a bay. ;-)

Congrats on your new guy! I have a soft spot in my heart for Paints and Pintos as my first horse was a loud chestnut and white tobiano mare. They rock!!!

He's adorable!

By the way, I had a white and chestnut Paint for 3 years (with a white tail and mane!), and I think Vetrolin White N' Brite shampoo works better than the Cowboy Magic purple shampoo. :)
