I was just looking around at the Shetland ponies in Teddy O'Connor's pedigree, and noticed that some of those Shetlands were tightly inbred (or linebred, if you get a good one!).

Then I went to the Arabian part of the pedigree, which for Teddy O'Connor is pretty much Raffles. And Raffles. I don't think I've EVER seen a pedigree so linebred! And FWIW, we had a Raffles-bred mare (Tiraffa, if you want to see a pic on AllBreedPedigree) in her 'retirement' in the late 70's until we put her down at age 34 or so. She was a pretty amazing horse- sweet, gentle, great feet, fabulous broodmare, had been a show horse, would let kids do anything with her...just a love.
But anyway,
That's some linebreeding!

I won't speak for how much linebreeding there was on his dam's side, but based on the pony/arab there, would bet on that being the source of his toughness and determination, and though I didn't know him, would guarantee a strong willed horse with a death defying attitude. But the wow factor? His daddy. Went to take a look at him when Teddy was doing prelim, with a friend who was considering breeding to him, oooh did I like what I saw. Still feel like kicking my friend for not doing it, she had a great little morgan that produced a very nice baby with a TB in the past.
