The gloves arrived two days ago and ordered the power straps today. Can the boots still be used if the power strap is removed (because it's too hard to get the boot on? or do the straps have to stay on once installed??

They will work with or with out them. The power strap just adds more pressure across the front of the boots to help hold it.

I just wondered if punching the holes for the power strap would weaken the boots at all if I found that the strap makes it too difficult to get them on/off and had to remove them... Thanks!

I think it would be fine. Once the boot stretches out a bit, you might be able to re-install and use the power straps.

If you are having trouble geting them on. Put the boot on as far as you can and put the foot down and make the horse take a step and put his weight on that foot. It will help get the toe down deep into the boot. Pick up the hoof and finish fastening the gaiter.

The gloves are really pretty easy to get on once they are broke in.
