I am working on a project to showcase some of racing's former stars. I would appreciate any help in locating where some of these horses may now live. Especially, those that are the oldest so that their stories can be told while they are still around.

Uh...you would need to be a LOT more specific about what horses. Though I can tell you if they were stallions, you should be able to find them by googling their name. They mostly get sent to stud. But in any case, Google is your friend.

Here are a couple more high-profile retirement places:

Unless you give much more specific information, it's hard to help further.

Adding as well ... Lexington, Kentucky's Horse Park

Three big names right there: Cigar, Da Hoss, Funny Cide

Others are there too but 'six feet under' ... Man o'War, Forgo, John Henry, Alysheba

I'm sure there are many on farms -- in their 20s, retired or pensioned. Wish I could think of a few. I think the farm that has Champagne Glow (is that Ruler on Ice's dam's name?) retires their horses -- I read that's why Rob Whitely partnered with them. What happens to Gainesway's or Three Chimney's, etc., mares and sires? What about in Florida (don't the Pletchers' retire horses there)?
