View Full Version : PSA: Don't go off on the judges

...things that make you go...are you kidding me?!?

Don't ask me why anyone would need to learn this lesson...it seems fairly obvious to me...but apparently not to everyone, because this happened at a show I was scribing at recently. If you are riding in a young horse class where the judges give you comments at the end of your ride...and you disagree with the comments and scores they have given you...take it up with the TD, not the judges sitting in front of you. It does not matter if you got a higher score last weekend...this is not last weekend. Your horse may be tired from the trip or the shows close together or you may have ridden somewhat differently, or the conditions may be different. Certainly do not tell the judge you think s/he is uneducated regarding what s/he is supposed to be looking for. It makes you look bad, is poor sportsmanship, and irritates the judge. For the record, the judge was more than professional in dealing with it. I'm sure judges see lots of interesting reactions.

It's also against the rules.
