Happy Brag =)

[Long Shadow Farm]

I have a Happy Brag. My QH gelding, Spanky aka Jus Passed My Zipper, has over the past month or so been showing a friend of mine's daughter the fun world of Eventing. She rode a small pony for awhile but pony didn't like cross country and somewhere on each course would do a duck shoulder and spin and dump AJ. She got to the point where she quit riding for about 6 months. I finally convinced her to ride my guy for awhile and I think he is having fun showing her the ropes!

Their first show together:

They went clean on both stadium and cross country and finished 2nd in their division.

I am proud of AJ for doing a great job. She is thinking that Beginner Novice looks fun this fall (<G>) and Spanky for being the saint that he is and giving her some great rounds to build her confidence.

There's nothing quite like a been there done that QH....Mine showed me eventing ropes & even gave a friend who rode him one summer while I was away her confidence back after going through difficult times with her horse. Yours is so cute & looks like he loves his job! What a lucky girl to get to ride him, I am jealous :-D.

They both look like they are having so much fun!

I sent my 16 yo BN-fit, semi retired P OTTB out BN last fall with a YR who'd had a confidence shaking season on a green horse. I'm not sure which of them had more fun, but I know I loved seeing the ear to ear grin on her face when she came off xc...it lasted the rest of the day!
