the Raleigh discussion got me thinking about where/when the 3* CDIs are next year.

according to the USEF website, both Devon and the Palm Beach Derby have downgraded to 1*. Could this be true?

Will the USEF change its rules about only 3* scores counting for the 'list'? Or perhaps they did and I missed it? (very possible)

If the FEI is like showjumping, the grading isn't usually about difficulty or level of competition, but the amount of prize money available.

I believe a 1* is only at the small tour level, it's not an international show at the Grand Prix. Hope that is not true for either the PB Derby or Devon.....

I see Dressage at Devon is a CDI 1* and a CDI-W, which means that at the GP level the show is definitely international, and a qualifier for the World Cup. So no worries there. I would like to think this is the same for the Derby, I just did not search that far into the future....

Do you know if the Devon scores will count for USEF ranking?

In the past, only CDI*** counted.
