Looking where you buy the lead weights to put on ends of jump poles.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but what purpose do they serve?

My guess would be that they hurt more when the horse hits the pole. Therefore horse picking up feet the next time.

Great for when you cut poles down to make them shorter. I'm sure there are others who have cut the 12 ft poles down if they don't have a large ring. Down side is the poles are lighter. The lead weights on the end of poles make them weigh more. Also helps keep horses sharp.
