What are some jobs or careers involved in the equine industry( hunter-jumper) that is not necessarily being a trainer. I want to have my own horses and show, train horses, but what are some other jobs or speacialties that would allow me to continue riding.

Massage therapy has always intrigued me. How would i go about becoming one. Would that be able to finance showing or having my own horses?

Helpful advice or suggestions?

You may make a better living being a massuese for people, or vet tech at a equine specialty hospital.

You could be a groom, a farrier, a vet, a vet tech, you could embroider things, braid, work at a breeding farm, work for a ring crew, steward, work for a tack shop. The list is not finite.

I will tell you when my $$ are tight, the first thing that goes away is horse massage, I only have a couple done per year. I am the worst client for that business. I know it helps, but I also feel that I can pretty close to the average equine massuese myself.
