In his second race as a 3yo. They must have decided that he wasn't Classic material, but still it's great that such a great mare would start off her broodmare career with a good one. Kingmambo was the sire. Her next one was by Monsun, then there's one by Galileo.

Clearly Lord Derby wants the best for the best.

I couldn't believe it when I saw she'd already had 3 foals! Time flies. Seems like I just saw her at Lone Star.

As an aside here's a couple of pictures my S O took last Mon. at Lone Star of now 3 time winner of the Ouija Board Distaff-Wasted Tears.

I know. Time flies.

Poor thing. She goes directly from race training and racing, and all that entails, to being barefoot and pregnant ALL THE TIME. She needs a year or two off to just be a horse and not a womb.

I feel that way about a lot of horses, including stallions that shuttle. People laugh, and say what a life, but it does take a lot out of them.

Eh, she's fertile now. It's when they're old and clearly not really up for it, but people keep trying to breed them, that I feel sorry (and that some end up in bad places.)

An aside ... another great race mare's 1st-to-the track offspring was supposed to debut today: La Dolce Diva in Australia (http://www.racingandsports.com.au/breeding/rsNewsArt.asp?NID=212204) out of uber sensational Makybe Diva (her 2nd foal) and sired by Fusaichi Pegasus was scratched from a Sandown (AU) race Saturday.
