Mr Hettinger was a truly great man. He was committed to the welfare of our horses after their racing careers were over. That still rings true, as evidenced by his legacy at ATBR. While he was alive, he continually worked to convince those high up in the industry to do the same. Erin is super, they work very hard to do the right thing by their horses. They have stepped up again and again.

On a personal note, when Wish, an old class runner, was found at NH and we didn't have room, the Friends of Twilight paid for him and ATBR gave him a place to go. Eight months later, when I decided to bring home a new horse, Wish still stood out in my mind. I called Erin and adopted him. Wish and I have the most amazing connection, more than I have felt with any other horse (and I have had quite a few wonderful horses!) It would not have been possible without Mr Hettinger, Erin, ATBR, and the Friends.
