I have one now...it's been a real trooper for the last eight years. The manufactuer doesn't make it anymore - I'm trying to find another one BEFORE I need it.

I've been shopping the internet, and can only find heaters with thermostats. Comes on around 50 degrees. I want one like the one I have that only comes on when it's 34 degrees.

Any ideas? All I'm trying to do is keep the pipes from freezing.

TIA!

What if you plugged a regular heater into one of these http://www.thermocube.com/ ?

I know I've seen them advertised in horse catalogs for use with tank de-icers.

No experience with them but I always thought they looked kind of interesting.
