Go for it. If they look good with our jacket, enjoy them.

They're not "in" but you certainly won't get penalized for them!

If they're good enough for GM, they're good enough for me! :)

I love my Rust TS breeches! I don't show in them, but I do school in them.

I was going to wear them to show in one day, and I stepped in the elevator at the hotel to leave for the show and a friend was in the elevator and said "Yay, love to see the rust, you go girl"!

Well, also in the elevator was the show steward, and she waid to be carefull, that some judges don't like rust.

So, I chickened out, and changed at the show!

I have NEVER heard of a judge who would penalize a rider for wearing rust. Love mine and I used to wear them all the time on my bay horse (first photo in sig line), but unfortunately I don't think they have as much eye appeal on my chestnut. :(

Rock the rust!

I have also never heard of a judge penalizing for rust breeches, and, to be perfectly honest, I don't think any good judge would.

I don't think any judge would penalize you, but they might make you more memorable in some way, good or bad. It is easier to remember a good or bad round if you couple it with knowing it was the only person wearing rust, or anything else unusual. Bad enough to miss six fences out of eight, but to be wearing something that further differentiates you from the rest, can't help. On the flip side, if you nail everything it might help.

I wear mine all the time- I just love how they look! They look even better paired with brown field boots... just sayin'....

I have rust and grey breeches and while they are not popular colors, I love them and I wear them!! If a judge wants to knock off points for colors.... that is someone's opinion I don't care to have. ;)

I chatted with up and coming equestrian fashion designer Adrianna Anderocci about what's cool in hunter riding fashion. (I wouldn't presume to tell you myself. I currently ride in a pair of half chaps that might have belonged to Yann Candele. 15 years ago.) She doesn't specifically recommend rust breeches but she does say what's old is new again. So, why not?

You can check out her other suggestions here:

It seems old fashion is coming back. More people seem to be wearing rust and also brown boots

Saw someone showing in the Locals at Upperville, as we were driving in yesterday, in rust breeches. I LOVE rust breeches! I don't ride well enough to call undue attention to myself, so I won't be showing in them until they are back "in", again, but I hope it is soon!

I recently wore my rust breeches to a QH show! The judge told me she missed seeing them :)

I do either navy or a dark grey that has a rust plaid in it.

I LOVE rust breeches! Anyone I see wearing them, automatically gets my admiration for not being a slave to fads.
