I've been away from racing for awhile but they all, pretty much, race on Lasix now? Is this both tb & sb?

Do you pull their water bucket for a bit before a race?

Depends on the horse and IF they are a BAD bleeder. Generally pull the water immediately after lasix is given. Which is at about 4 (+ or - 15 minutes) hours prior to post.

More TBs do race on it then don't. Its the other way around for STBs.

We use it "as needed", but, unfortunately, alot need it.

I do not pull water buckets, esp in the summer time, but alot do.

Thanks all.

Do as many sb's race on it as tbs? I saw a tb program recently and they were almost all an (L).

Thanks again,
Sonoma

Nah, nowadays more STBs do than don't. In the US at least. Forbidden in Europe and harder to get on it in Canada. Here, I believe you are not permitted to race a 2yo on Lasix but once they turn three you're good to go.

That being said though, you see less of it at the stakes level, in my experience.

I find it more disturbing the number of horses marked as running on bute.
