I now have enough money to get the custom saddle I've been wanting for years. :D:D:D

I only had $2 on him, but he covered my wagers with enough left over for drinks and dinner. :)

One of my earliest bets - although I a had couple on the nose - AK sentimentally for the Motion barn - had the $2 win, and the $1 exacta box.
Starting my Christmas account, which I usually earn at Saratoga. Nice to begin early!

At least y'all are in states that let you bet on horses. Because it's illegal here, online betting isn't available. We have casinos but no race betting. I could drive to the dog track in West Memphis but with the price of gas what it is I'd have to win $60 just to cover the fuel.

I feel your pain, Vinny. My state doesn't let me do anything more than play Powerball, and those 6 numbers haven't matched yet.
Closest track is a 5 1/2-hour drive to Oaklawn. I went for the Ark Derby and earned back my gas money. :) Churchill is a 12-hour drive. Sigh. Love my project farm, but in an ideal world, I'd move the same farm about 300 miles south and improve those winters while I was at it.

As much as I'd love to see the Derby live, I can't picture fighting that crowd. I've been to Churchill for the BC, and that was bad enough. Never thought of myself as superstitious, but I've had such good luck betting the Derby at LoneStar I'm going to stay there!

I need to thank AK as well (and Nehro). Not only did they pay my rent for the next couple of months, AK kept me alive in the sweepstakes offered by the Breeders Cup on facebook; select the winner and you're entered in a drawing for an all expenses paid trip to the BC in the fall. I've got a one in 75 shot. :D They're announcing the winner at 11 am.
I've been to the derby, spent a lot of quality time at Saratoga, but the BC would be a dream. Here's hoping my luck holds.

My father had $20 on AK across the board. he collected $764, including his $60.
