Heart's Journey

I have an update on Abby Fuller that I saw in a local magazine that a good friend & her husband publish. She lives in Parkland, FL (South fla) and her son George Fuller-Vargas, 25 is a jockey. She also has 2 teenaged daughters and has some horses of her own.

On May 20th, at Pimlico, Abby and a group of retired female jockeys will mount up and ride in a race called Lady Legends Race for the Cure benefiting the Susan G Komen fund.

I rode with Abby during the Moms Command years. Mr Fuller had horses with Ned Allard and was a fixture at Suffolk.

He was super friendly and used to bring snowballs (flavored ice) in to us girls in the jocks room on the really hot days. Peter and Abby were both a joy to know.

Not sure why I clicked on this as I knew nothing about Peter Fuller. I almost didn't read the article because I didn't particularly like Gordon's book. But, wow, the article is beautifully written and very moving. What a bittersweet story.
