For other contenders see

http://www.kentuckyderby.com/oaks/horses/graded-earnings-list

Plus there are other sources of info on that page.

As for 'Dancing' she is out of consideration for the Oaks having lost three straight after starting her career two for two. Most recently she finished dead last in the Grade 1, $400,000 Central Bank Ashland Stakes at Keeneland April 9th. All signs suggest something is amiss and the Oaks makes no sense IMHO.

Ashalnd winner - Lilacs And Lace, (by Flower Alley) - might be a one major hit wonder but she looked bound and determined to take the victory in that race. I suspect the bettors will still gravitate towards Kathmanblu.

I was thinking Kathmanblu too since I like the Jock-going for Dialed in the Derby and he's riding him too.

Not suprised, she's been on a fast downhill slide since she turned 3.

Apr 27, 2011 "Kentucky Oaks: Bobby Flay buys Her Smile, sends her to Churchill Downs" (http://www.drf.com/news/kentucky-oaks-bobby-flay-buys-her-smile-sends-her-churchill-downs)

Worth noting that Bobby owned Oak's contender "More Than Real" who is now out of Kentucky Oaks consideration. Her Smile (based at Fair Hills, MD) does not have earnings within the top 17 for the Oaks - just a mere $30,000 in graded stakes earnings. So getting in could be difficult as it's limited to 14 starters but with at least 18 horses being considered for the race.

She has a record of 3-2-1 in seven races and total earnings (graded or otherwise) of $126,360. Her Smile is scheduled to arrive at Churchill Downs on Thursday.

This will be the 137th running of the Oaks. (http://www.equibase.com/premium/eqbHorsemenAreaDownloadAction.cfm?sn=SB-CD-20110506-500893) For 2011 the purse has been doubled for this year from the customary $500,000 to $1M.

I'm rooting for Daisy Devine-- because I helped raise her as a foal. Nice filly, who has really turned out to be a runner. Read the full Cinderella story (http://cs.bloodhorse.com/blogs/beyond-the-blinkers/archive/2011/04/28/daisy-devine-cinderella-story-of-the-oaks.aspx) on the Bloodhorse.

2008 was my first foaling season, and Daisy was the first I had seen born. Pretty neat that she ends up in the Oaks! Very happy for her connections as well, a smaller operation who really appreciates the horses and the sport.

Wow, good luck AJ!!! Hope that she makes you proud!

There is a filly from here (PNW) who sold at our sale for $400. Yes, four HUNDRED dollars. She ran 3rd in the Sunland Oaks and I just heard today is gonna go to the KY Oaks with a jockey everyone knows. Saw her win her maiden at Portland Meadows in January. Go, Formal Plan!

The Paulick Report is indicating R Heat Lightning is not going to enter the Oaks. Right knee with some heat and a bit off.
