View Full Version : Bridle/Halter Combo for Extra Large Horse?

I've spent the morning googling to find a halter/bridle combo for my husband's SSH, who is 17.1 hands with a big old noggin. Think TWH long with draft-like girth. So a "horse" size just won't do.

I found some halter-fabric ones, but my DH won't tolerate royal blue or pink on his boy. I'm looking for leather, or at least brown in color. Traditional looking. I have the Tucker lite combo for my TWH -- but it doesn't come close to fitting hubby's horse. Can anyone help?

For the record I actually think they're a bit of a pain in the neck to put on, but are great if we have to stop on the trail. We do a lot of trail work while we ride, clearing and cutting. It's nice to be able to switch out so easily.

I love the snap on/off browband style. Much easier than the bit attachments and then I can use my rope halters if I want. I have the one from Long Riders Gear, it is very nice and it comes in an oversize.

Thanks to both of you! Measuring his current headstall, which was custom made for him, I do think we need a custom fit. This is perfect!
