Why so many UK based riders this year? Will they all come and bring all the horses they have entered?

This is one year that I really don't want to miss, just because of all the UK riders and horses, but might have to because I can't afford the trip.

Anyone here want to buy a Hogarth Press first edition of Mrs Dalloway? :)

Well, the exchange rate is pretty favorable (ETA: to THEM I mean!) at the moment, so that's one thing...

I couldn't afford WEG last year, and am really excited to attend Rolex this year with all of the great entries!

I think, as a sad matter of fact, that there are many more talented and international quality horses in eventing in the UK. They offer more events and more prize money, there's a big owner culture and I think there are just more of these kinds of horses steered toward the sport than in the U.S. -- so these riders, that have entered both Rolex and Badminton, obviously have a plethora of qualified four star horses.
My guess is there will be a bit of attrition, and the better horses of the multiples are really aiming to Badminton. I don't think more than two per rider can compete anyhow, makes the scheduling tough especially with under 50 horses. And as far as costs...Kentucky does pay for the foreign horses as per FEI rules, so they don't have much to pay for.

There are a lot of horses who are double entered at both Rolex and Badminton. The Badminton draw posted here:

So when will the final lists for the two events be published?
