I suspected that was coming after the decision not to send Z to him. What a stellar stud career the old boy has had.

I believe I said in the Zenyatta thread when the match with Bernardini was announced "Maybe they know something we don't." Apparently they did!

I hope he has a long and happy retirement.

I don't feel old, I know I am! End of an era for sure. I hope he has a long and happy retirement from the breeding shed.

i understand from a very reliable source that he had a lot of trouble getting mares pregnant this year.. he has done his job and well. he deserves to rest now and just be a pretty horse....

His fertility has been declining for a few years now. This season he just didn't get any mare in foal. A lot of us around here thought he should of been retired last year.
