My hay guy asked if he could bale my large back pasture this year (he normally just bales a pasture that my horses don't use). He said that he would have it fertilized and seeded, if needed, and my horses could continue to graze on it.
This past Sunday, he came and fertilized the pasture with a solid fertilizer (small white) since it was supposed to rain all day Monday. Well, it rained everywhere except in a cone over my farm, so now there is dry fertilizer sitting in the field and my horses are extremely displeased that they haven't been allowed back there in a few days.
Do I have to wait for it to rain before I can let my horses back out there? If not, how long until they can go back out? If so, what if it never rains? We have been in a drought-like state for about 2 years now.
TIA

Stick 'em out there :)

Unless there are big (salty, yummy) clumps, they aren't going to be interested in eating it, and anything they do accidentally ingest isn't going to be much.
