So a friend of mine is getting a new horse, and since she has been looking for quite some time, with a few heartbreaks along the way, I thought it would be a nice gesture to get her a little "congrats on your new horsey!" gift. Now I've thought of embroidered saddle pads, and a grooming set, but was just wondering if anyone has any other ideas? TIA:winkgrin:

I guess it depends on how much you want to spend... :)

Silly me, I should have posted that earlier...

I was looking to keep it under $30. Hopefully. LOL

How about an engraved halter plate? Also, you might want to move this to Off Course where more people will read it and have ideas.

Thanks Sillyhorse. Ill do that, I just thought that since we both are hunters to the max if there was anything discipline specific the fellow COTH'ers would know

You mean she wouldn't want a sparkly browband and a show bow?

The bracelet is adorable...but, is there anything she really needs? Scope out her tack trunk and see what's lacking. She just might love a wash bucket filled with shampoo, showsheen, etc....

How about a lead rope with her horse's name on it. I bought a few as Christmas presents this past year, from a link posted in a thread on COTH about good gift ideas.

How about a gift certificate to your local tack store or Dover? That way she can use it to buy what she needs?

For secret santa on my college equestrian team I got a friend a personalized picture frame :)

Show name on top and her name on bottom, for some future horse show pics.

My mother in law buys me great horse gifts for Christmas and she is not a horse person at all. She has gotten me brushes, hoof picks, sweat scrapers, shampoos/conditioners, tall boot socks, and riding gloves. Can't forget the horse treats either!

Is she a gator too? ;) You could do something custom horse wise in orange and blue

One of my favorite things that I have is a belt with name plates on it that you can put horses names on. You could get a couple of name plates and on one you can put the name of her new horse on it! Hope that helps :)

Oh yeah, I'm going to spread the word now... because lord knows there is no "settling down" on the horizon for me!
