Does anyone know a source of bandage pins?? I have a zillion new/good flannel and other bandages with no velcro closures and have always preferred pins, but my hoard of pins has finally come to an end!! Tack shops around here have no idea what I'm even asking for!! Anyone??? Thanks.

Why not use masking tape instead?

Beval's probably sells them, they sell flannel in sheets so you can tear your own, I'm sure they have pins too. I have a box of them but they are a bit rusty since they are nearly 20 years old.

Thank you all. Canyonoak, that's a really good price.

I'm an "old school race tracker". Pins or velcro with one pin. Masking tape just doesn't do a secure enough job for me.

I'm old school too, and the last trainer I worked for was even more old school than me. :) After having a few pins missing in the stall he switched to masking tape, bandages were always in place in the am.

I will 2nd the masking tape. Haven't used pins in years. Old school myself, still buy the flannel and rip our own! I still fold the end like you would for 1 pin, then use 1 1/2 turns of regular 1" masking tape. Never had one come undone fromt he tape. The chewers? well, they chew no matter what you use for a fastener  Rap Last then!

Love you guys! :)

I'm all about flannels with safety pins! I swear the even distribution of pressure down the flannel is better. I am blown away that a tack shop wouldn't sell pins, actually.

That said, there hasn't been a single time in my life when I was finishing off a nice tidy flannel bandage with safety pins when I didn't think of the pin that supposedly ended Spectacular Bid's Belmont, alas. But I still love 'em!

I ALWAYS keep Raplast on hand!! I used to stock it on my Tack Trailer.
