Saratoga's Thoroughbred Racing Museum and Hall of Fame could get some big names added to the roster this year. Hall of Fame finalists (http://www.drf.com/news/calvin-borel-garrett-gomez-among-2011-hall-fame-nominees):

Jockeys Calvin Borel, Garrett Gomez, and John Velazquez and trainer Jerry Hollendorfer are among the first-time finalists for election to the National Museum and Racing’s Hall of Fame, it was announced on Wednesday by the Hall of Fame.

Other finalists are jockey Alex Solis, trainers Gary Jones and Robert Wheeler, and the female horses Open Mind, Safely Kept, and Sky Beauty.

Of those 10, the four receiving the most votes from the Hall's voters will be enshrined, under the Hall’s current rules.

Worth noting - no male horses made the final ballot.

Win last year's Kentucky Derby or even win this year's Kentucky Derby and it's still no bueno for the HOF ;)

There were no male horses among the 10 finalists this year.

And, of course, winning the Triple Crown does no good either.

Well, last night James was voted off American Idol, and today Hollendorfer is in the HOF. Not a good 24 hours.

At least Motion won the Derby, and they got OBL, so last week was a good one.
