Bringing back up - anyone know anything about Karen Boysen/Boysen LTD?

Looking for a Georgia hunter/jumper trainer with a strong CORRECT dressage background... Doesn't need to be a big name. Any ideas?

Atlanta area is best, but open to options. Just looking for the right fit.

Heather Steinman Ray has a good dressage background and understands the value of teaching a horse to accept some contact with the bit and work through its topline. She did a lovely job starting my mare and even though we showed her as a hunter as a 3 & 4 y/o, she transitioned very easily to straight dressage.

And not in Atlanta but the Newnan area - Laura and Jos Sevriens at Blalock Lakes Equestrian Center.

Stefanie and Chris Hamilton at Signature Sporthorses. Chris does straight dressage and Stefanie grew up doing dressage and is now a hunter trainer. All of their horses are trained with dressage basics.

You could try my trainers at synergyperformancehorses.com in Cartersville. He's a (correct!) dressage trainer, she's an H/J person. They are new to the area w/ a very small program and I'm thrilled with what the "one-two punch" has been doing for my baby greenie!

Heather's very good.

I thought Jos was strictly dressage? Maybe his wife rode hunters, but not as a trainer?

Jim Bassett and his wife.... They're fantastic and as much as he won't "admit" to knowing dressage... he knows his dressage :)

Really cool guy. His wife is super nice too, but I haven't ridden with her.

Hands down: Heather.

She is very good with young horses and has also started other professionals' young horses.

And she's honest.

I'm a newbie here, but I'm also in Georgia and need a hunter/jumper trainer with a dressage background. I am located closer to Macon, so if I could find someone in middle GA, that would be ideal.

I know that Scott Armour at Quail Ridge Farm has a very strong dressage background. Its a little farther out, but I hear he is great.

Scott Armour is fantastic. I rode with him for several years when I was younger. If I still lived inthe Atlanta area, that's who I'd ride with.
