View Full Version : Naming help for yearling colt - Refuse to Dance is his official name!

9-7 update: Turns out the DNA test showed this colt is actually out of Shesa Robyn Dancer instead of Cleared for Glory. Good thing I did not name him after her! As a reminder, this is a chestnut colt by Perfect Fusion (Lite the Fuse). He was a rescue and we plan to see if he is suited for racing - if not he is fancy enough for the hunters. We got him as a straving and barely handled weanling (his foster home had started to do a great job handling him).

I like the Lite the Fuse connection but am not thrilled with the word "Fusion" in the name. His barn name is Chester, and our Farm Name is Diamond Oaks Farm - he does have a perfect white diamond marking on his forehead.

Full pedigrees are here:

Crafty Chester

Diamond Aly
Copper Aly
Chester's Diamond
On the Bright Side (my maiden name is Bright and fits with Lite the Fuse)

I know, this is a PITA, but I am stumped. Would like a name that works whether he races or not.

Oh I LOVE Perfectly Clear - unfortunately it is taken. Clear to Me is a good one as well, just not the home run yet...

Since he is a rescue, how about using "rescue" in the name?

Perfectly Clear Rescue

Rescue Take Off

Diamond Rescue

Good luck I hope he does well for you.

What about

Edit: nevermind, I see that one in your OP

You guys are the best! Several really good ones there. New Clear Fusion lol! Kaboom! Will see what hubby likes and let you know.

Was also visiting my Dad this weekend, and he lives on Scarlet Tanager CT - I kind of like that as well.... Not as much as the names you guys have suggested.

Visualflightrules-- I've always thought of VFR as the epitome of a clear sky.

However, I must confess to loving New Clear Fusion. :)

Since his dam is actually Shesa Robyn Dancer, it changes his name options. I really wanted Christopher Robyn, but it is taken!

Here are some that I've thought of and that hubby for the most part approves. I am leaning towards Crafty CHester so that he can keep his barn name, but that is probably silly.

New suggestions are more than welcome!

Crafty Chester
Northern Flame (maybe too fancy?)
Diamond Aly
Copper Aly
Chester's Diamond
On the Bright Side (my maiden name is Bright and fits with Lite the Fuse)

It is a town, and Chesterfield Light is the name of an Artillery Company that was involved in the Civil War, and the name of a cigarette:eek:.

Oh - if you ask a Canadian what a chesterfield is, they will invite you to sit on their sofa :) (I think the same in the UK too~!)
