I know there have been posts from people looking for trainers in western washington, but they are old..so I'm starting a new thread. :)

I need a trainer...someone who is well qualified, patient with my occasional timidity issues, and has a school horse available. I'm a fast learner and I get bored with endless repetition. I would like to avoid driving to the Seattle area if possible (I live in Whatcom county.) There is a sad dearth of dressage here...I figured that out too late and when I finish school I'm moving..anyway. Can anyone recommend someone?

Allison at Pyramid Equestrian, she's great! I have timidity issues, too. And by working with Allison, I've progressed further than I ever though possible. Here's her website:

there is a fairly vibrant, if small, dressage community in the bellingham area. are you a member of the whatcom GMO? i would start there.

Thought Enumclaw was close to me-apparently it's 120 miles. Yikes  Back to the drawing board...

I have no personal experience with her, but Marg Clumpner at Fox Bay Farm in Ferndale has been around a long time and seems to have school horses, and I think has worked with Pony Club among other things, which suggests patience and attention to basics. http://foxbayfarm.com. There are a few people in the Arlington area also.
