Are there any options? Add on piece? Do it yourself?

I really like my bridle and hope not to have to buy a new one.

thanks!

I had Bartville Harness add some padding to a crown piece and cut 2 holes on each side of the crown for the caveson strap. So, now I have an instant padded crown bridle with the caveson strap going over the crown. It came out nice and was only $10 dollars for them to add the padding. (the shipping was more expensive !)

I've put this (http://www.dressageextensions.com/ProductDetail.asp?KEY=23533) one both my snaffle and double. The double was a time-consuming project, but it was well worth it (for both bridles).

With this on, the caveson (and bradoon hanger) doesn't do it's own thing and have to be straightened out every time it's put on. I may have already made up for the installation time in recovered "no adjusting the caveson" time! It doesn't look as out of place on a nice leather bridle as you might think, and one less piece of leather to clean and condition, just wipe and go.

Cashel also makes a nice crown pad that is pretty inexpensive.

There are some here...

The Stubben one in the middle is pretty nice if you don't like big pouff. I have the Christ one at the bottom (in Black) it looks really nice, but I had to drop my bit down a hole after I put it on. It's pretty nice sheepskin, and it hasn't crushed down yet, so I don't THINK it will smush over time and make my bit too low... but I am keeping an eye on that.

I've tried several, but like the one that serenaginger mentions the best! Very inexpensive, nicely rounded edges, not too bulky and very soft!!

I got the ovation alpha gel one. It is attached with velcro. Very cushioning and it has held up very well.
