Old Vic, who won both the French and Irish Derbies (with Steve Cauthen up) in 1989, has died aged 25.

Old Vic went on to become a top sire of jump racers, including two Grand National winners -- Comply or Die and Don't Push It -- and a Cheltenham Gold Cup winner (Kicking King).

Here are his Prix du Jockey Club win (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTS2-uhu4gQ), where he annihilated them, and his great duel with stable mate Belmez in the King George at Ascot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tOG2uMTYWM) as a 4yo.
I suppose it should be no surprise he produced so many top jumpers given his no nonsense style of running and fondness for soft ground.

Hi All,
What a classy horse Old Vic was - the kind we're seeing less of these days. He did like the soft going, but would fight it out no matter what. A piece of history gone. RIP.
