View Full Version : Offspring of mare?

Is there any way I can find out if my OTTB mare has had a baby (full TB of course). Thanks in advance. In case it matters, her JC name is "A True Angel" born in 2004.

That's the link. Nothing came up for her in the JC.

I don't think you can run a progeny report without paying for it. Equineline will have one, but it's something like $5-10, I think.

Actually, if you know when she quit racing (which you can check for free on Equibase), like if it was fall of 2007, figure she chouldn't have been bred before spring, 2008 & couldn't have foaled before 2009. Then use the equineline.com free 5-generation pedigree to check by putting her name in the dam's name slot & the year 2009 in the year slot. Repeat for 2010 (unless you already had her then). That will show the foal that was born to that mare in that year - it will also tell you the name of the breeder.

Cannot find any registered TB offspring for her. Looks like she may have been bred to 'Takin It Deep' in 2008 for 2009 but no live foal resulted.

Thanks, the breeder claimed she had received a live foal report and I believe the stallion was Takin it Deep. Weird isn't it?

Well if the foal was born the registration must never have been completed then. I can find record of the breeding taking place but no gender or name for the foal, and no foal comes up in equibase or brisnet when searching 2009 with your mare as the dam.

Thanks everyone. Maybe she has a baby out there somewhere. If so I wish it had been registered.

Just a sidenote on Takin it Deep. He is Minnesota bound for 2011.

Also, California noted no 2010 report for mares bred:
