Hi, bought this saddle and have questions:

There's no keeper for the excess stirrup leather like on other saddles. What am I supposed to do?

Is this a saddle with the flextra tree?

Thanks
Karen

Check out Wintec Webbers.

I never use the stirrup leather keepers on my dressage saddles. I usually place the excess leather in front of the regular leather, ... under my knee (actually it is back a couple of inches, not under the joint of my knee, but right behind/above it).

Thanks. I rarely use the keepers, and those wintec webbers look interesting-enough to try!

Where did you buy the saddle, ask the seller/dealer? the dealer can tell you about the tree.

I have a sommer flextra espirit. My stirrup leathers are short, so I run them back behind the buckle rather than worrying about the leather keepers.

I also have a sommer-I use 54" leathers instead of the standard 60" and use hole #7 so no excess.
On my monoflap jumping saddle I tuck the extra under the back edge of the flap.
Also have seen some where a really good saddler can put a slit in the flap to about where a keeper would be.
