I've never thought about breed awards because I've never had a horse of my own that is registered! ....until now....

From what I have heard, there may possibly be breed awards available for event ponies...?

My guy this year is a registered Paint.
(don't tell him that, he's an American Warmblood, color = pinto)

Does anyone know anything about this sort of thing?

thanks guys!

GotSpots owned a horse that won this in eventing as did faybe's husband. They may be able to give you more information. I believe you need to be a member of the APHA and your horse registered

So I need to have my mother fill out the PAC Program Application 1st.

then for each event fill out the "Combined Training Report" and send the show premium?

Is that it?

Yes, you need to fill out the forms and pay to register in the program. Then send in the combined training report with a copy of the program.

My husband does this for his cowhorse, cutting, roping and reining. We also have a horse we sold that won a prize for eventing from the PAC program.

Exactly what everyone said. Horse owner needs to be an APHA member (the magazine's fun). I don't recall if we signed up for PAC awards or just submitted information through the USEA points (I seem to recall the latter, but it's been almost six years - gah. How did it get to be six years?). Their prizes are REALLY nice. Our horse was Horse of the Year a couple years in a row and we have enormous crystal trophies and pretty glass statues. Plus, APHA was just a lovely organization - and it was quite fun to have them cheering on our Paint.

Not the Appy Horse Club, but Appy Sport Horse does eventing and dressage awards: http://www.apsha.org/awards.php

DW - the menace is eligible due to his coloring
