View Full Version : Question regarding Wintec 500 Dressage Saddle, pony versus horse.

I am looking to get a Wintec dressage saddle for my kid who is five. The pony we have is 12.3 hands, my Wintec 500 all purpose with the medium gullet fits her well. Unfortunately it is a 17" seat and the kid swims in it. The pony 500 dressage has a smaller seat size but the description says anatomically designed for ponies. How much different are pony saddles than horse size saddles? Are tree sizes similar and they are just smaller in size to accomodate a smaller horse and rider?

I need help from someone who has had pony saddle experience since I have no idea!

A 17in Wintec on a 12.3 H pony & it fits! did you check that the panels don't extend past the last rib & sit behind the shoulder?
