A safety vest should not be purchased nor used until one has mastered the following dance. Note that the main character is in fact wearing a vest. I believe it was an early 80s prototype safety vest.

I saw this thread and was all, "Oooh, I wonder what info Mukluk has!"

Shall I record the dance and post it on COTH just to make sure I'm doing it right?

Um, those dudes are Canadian.

Just because they whupped our star-spangled butts at WEG doesn't mean we have to copy them in everything.

Aargh! You forgot to warn us that there were men wearing NO HATS in that video! I mean, safety vest without a helmet? really?

Of course they weren't wearing hats. The name of the band is Men without Hats.

His looks more comfortable to wear than mine does. I don't think I could even do a Safety Vest Dance in mine....

Mukluk - that was my (apparently poor) attempt at humour. Yes, as a child of the 80s, I know that band quite well.

thanks for posting that video!

There was a lesser known "sister band" if you will called "Men without Pants." They were never heard from again after their first concert in public.

Also the Australian band, Men at Work.
Me, I just ended up dating & supporting the members of Men Without Work.... Obviously no one ever heard much of them ;)

Seems right in keeping with the time period that brought us
Labrynth, The Dark Crystal, The Princess Bride.....

Ah! I too dated Men Without Work. Also known as "local musicians" or "guitar players".. or more recently "bass players." (As the saying goes... How do you get a musician off your front porch? Pay for the pizza!)
