My sister's chickens are always pooping on my mom's porch (she lives in the guest house). How high a fence would be needed to keep them off? Thanks!

4 ft was enough to keep *most* of the heavy hens out of the garden. With any other kind of chicken, you're probably S.O.L.

Our barred rocks will stay out of the flower garden with a 28" tall fence (just short enough I can step over it).

Ducks, chickens, turkeys, guineas...we gave up trying to control them through fencing. The heavier chickens have some difficulty flying higher than 4'. Most of ours can fly into our beech trees without trouble. We thought the Khaki Campbells couldn't fly until a couple of motivated males soared over the 4' goat fence. If there's cat or dog food on the porch, you're screwed.

Wrap the porch in chicken wire.

Yeah, I know these can fly decently high because some of them roost in trees. I guess it all depends on their motivation, huh? I was hoping she could get by with something really short, but I guess not.
