http://www.cheshirehorse.com/Details.asp?ProdID=426 does anyone know if there are "knock offs" of this bit? I need another one of them but I just don't want to pay this price, so I am hoping someone knows of a similar one for less money. TIA

I've been looking for the same bit, and I just bought this one: http://www.smartpakequine.com/ProductClass.aspx?productclassid=6147&cm_vc=Search

I haven't tried it yet, but for the price, I think it's worth a shot.

I've owned several horses that realy liked the "anatomical curve" of the JP bits. So if that's the part that was most important to you, rather than the alloy, it would be worth trying one.

Dittos on the JP bit. I have one and my mare loves it -- and she loves very few things!

The curve of the mouthpiece just makes sense.

Thanks everyone! It is just the anotomical mouth piece he likes plus only the single joint not one that has a link. I saw the one on eBay but still more than I wanted to spend for a used bit when I can buy a new one for 25 dollars more. I like the one from smartpak and it's a very nice price!

JP bits are great! I use their oval mouth on my gelding who really liked the Herm Sprenger Ultra KK. My gelding does not know the difference. ;)

The Myler bits have the same shape and that can broaden your possibilities for finding a used bit.

I too really like the JP if it is the curved aspect. If it is the metal, that is tougher to find with a curve

have you checked ebay? I've seen them used on there.
