My friend asked me to get her a new dressage whip for xmas, and I plan to order it online... which means i won't be able to touch it before buying it.

What brands do you guys like? Something strong, durable, show legal etc. Not toooo expensive but not cheap either.

Fleck. They are really nicely balanced and you can't go wrong with any one in your price range. They have them at Dover, not sure where else you can find them on line.

Thanks. Do you know what the most desirable length is? Is that based on the size of the mount, or rider preference? She rides a 15.2 hand morab.

I second Fleck.

Dover, Dressage Extensions, Smartpak sell them.

Maximum legal length for showing in the US isno longer than 47.2 inches (120 cm)

The two most common sizes are 110cm and 120cm. (they do come in a shorter 100cm) I ride a 17h warmblood and I use the 110.

Another Fleck fan. I will buy no other brand. I am short - 5 feet - and prefer a shorter whip. My favorite is the plain golf grip version.
