I was surfing horseguard fence website as we are going to add two strands to current short wood fence (one that is going to go temp. above the fence until we can replace). I was going to extend with wood but they have a rebar suggestion. Does it look safe? http://www.horseguardfence.com/shop_intus/cat15_11.php

Wouldn't use rebar unless you put those caps on they use for T-Bars.

Not sure if the rebar would be able to go all the way through the insulator to put a cap on..won't know until I get it unless if someone here has a horse guard insulator that could take a look.

The way that is set up looks pretty safe...the hot tape is right there with the insulator covering the top of the rebar....the horse is really unlikely to test that if he's already used to hot tape fencing. Also suggests using the fiberglass rods (which I have and will be using...they are 6 feet and Ill use them between the railroad ties which are about 60 feet apart).
