View Full Version : Question for Alberta riders!
Nov. 15, 2010, 08:32 AM
I'm new to the area (Calgary) and was hoping to get some info on some good show jumping trainers and/or barns. I'm looking to bring my young show jumper with me from Ontario and would like to do most of the Spruce Meadows shows. Please give me your opinions on some of the trainers in the area; I am also willing to travel a bit, so it doesn't bother me if the farm is farther away!

I have an acquaintance who is a very nice rider and rides with Rodney Tulloch at Landmark Farms.

Darrin Dlin and Andrew More both work out of bluevalleyfarms.com

St. George's (Selinger), (http://stgeorgesstables.com/)
RMSJ (Anderson) (http://www.rmshowjumping.com/)
Sweet Talk (http://sweettalkstables.com/)(don't remember their head trainer, but I love their logo!)
Willow Grove (Mrakawa) (http://www.willowgrovestables.com/)
these are the ones I could think of off the top of my head - there are lots of options.
I would recommend you go to several barns and check them out to see which ones fit with how you roll.

If you want to travel to away shows and go to all of the Spruce shows then I recommend the following (you will pay high dollars for these facilities too):
(just a word, Jonothan Asselin doesn't have students anymore!)
Gail Greenough (I think she may still be out of Attache though), but get ready to pay $$$$$ and does a lot of away shows (not sure of her website).
http://landmarkfarms.net/contact.htm - Rodney Tulloch
http://bluevalleyfarms.com/ - Andrew More is now out of here (not sure if he goes down to the States much though)
There's also Jenn Serek, who does a LOT of travelling, not sure of her website.
http://www.stgeorgesstables.com/ - Frank Selenger (been around a long time and does a lot of travelling)
