I missed the last thread for that! I'll start,
I'm a beginner rider in Atlanta, GA looking for a riderless horse who'd be great for newbies or just want's to be groomed, scratched and loved on a little.

Are you in Atlanta proper or "metro?" I ask because I'm out in Dallas and wouldn't mind having help with the grooming, loving.

I live in downtown Atl. right now, but will be moving to Smyrna soon. Dallas really isn't too far for me! I drive to Woodstock every weekend for my lesson.

I have a riderless horse in College Station, TX. But, she is rehabbing from a serious injury and can only walk and trot for about 30 minutes right now. She is VERY sweet and LOVES to be groomed and fussed over. But, you must be able to ride a spook! http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif She generally doesn't buck but will jump sideways and look at stuff. She doesn't take off because that would require expending energy for more than 2 seconds! I'm trying to get her back going myself but am having trouble finding enough time.

I'll jump on this one too...I missed the last one also. I am a horseless horse lover in NY. Nassau Long Island, but not opposed to driving into Suffolk. With the dark coming early these days its hard to ride unless there are lights. But I could ride Sundays. I would also be interested in just grooming and bonding with a horse. I sold my guy in June and really haven't done much since. I miss HORSIES!! E-mail me if anyone needs a favor or has a horse that needs to be loved on. blueceli@aol.com

Well I posted on the last thread too, but hey, I'll try again.

I am an adult rider looking for a riderless horse. I've pretty much ridden western and want to learn english.
I live in Littleton, CO.

I didn't have any takers the 1st time, LOL, so I'll play!

I am near LaCrosse, WI (just north of it). I have a coming 12 y/o TB mare, 15.2, who would love more work than she's getting. She is a super jumper, does solid Training level dressage and schools 1st/2nd level, is sound, sane, safe and a lot of fun. Plus she's really cute http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I do have her up for lease, but until then would love if someone wanted to come ride her a couple times a week. Shes great with less experienced riders, but TONS of fun for more experienced, and would love someone who could jump her over more than my little 2'3" fences http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

Email is in my profile if you'd like more details!

I'll try, as well. I'm a horseless rider in Apex, NC (about 30 minutes outside of Raleigh) and would love to come out and ride just about anything, however I'd prefer a situation in which I'd get to jump. I'd also just come out and groom, love on a horse / pony. I can ride the mediums and any bigger. I'm 5'3" so yeah .. not super fine boned mediums but -shrug-. I ride three times a week at my lesson place, but other than that I am basically free anytime after school. If in the district I could ride the bus home on the days I don't go over to the other farm.

Contact is appaloosahunter@horsemail.com, not the e-mail in my profile. Address it to Kaila, if you will.

Northern Illinois...Hampshire/Elgin area...

I have a 7yr mare currently boarded at a 140 acre facility that offers plenty of room to ride outside, plus a 400x200 indoor arena. Currently she is only being ridden once a week and I would love for her to see a little more under saddle time.

She has competed in local medals, novice, pregreens and training jumpers classes. Very sweet and willing, she would be lots of fun for an advanced rider or perfect for a beginner wanting to take lessons on her.

ok..I'll try again...http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif horseless rider here in Bergen County, NJ (Paramus area). Because of it getting dark and working full time though, I am only able to drive about a half hour to 45 mins from where I am to ride. If you're in the Suffern, NY area, I can ride more often (I work full time in that area). I was just thinking yesterday about reviving this thread. My beloved mare is going off to her lease home tomorrow so I can save money and go off to grad school in the fall. I'd love to have something to ride a few times a week. I'm a first/second level rider happy to ride anything sane, or just come love on a horse (willing to do barn chores, too!). I work full time days in Seattle, live on the Eastside, and could drive to surrounding areas. PT me!
thanks!

funny, I ride a horse named Avery in my H/J lessons.

ROME, GA:

I have several horses who really need someone to love, groom and ride them. They aren't mine, but my boss's trail/pleasure horses. We have all types: A western/english QH, 17 hand TWH, paint TWH goes English, 2 gaited saddlebred mares, 3 year old arab/QH pony just being broke, 5 gaited saddlebred/standaredbred that is so much fun to ride AND drive. You don't have to be experianced, just have a willingness to learn, love of horses, and your own transportation. PT or email me if you'd like to come out to our 500 acre farm - we have 3 lakes, and lots of trails.

I have a riderless horse, he gives some lessons but doesn't have his own person at the moment. He's my semi-retired show horse, 13 yo, TB stallion, 16h, kid-friendly, has done Prelim showjumping, 2nd/3rd level dressage work, Prelim eventing. Great confidence-builder for the timid or inexperienced rider. Currently teaching students in the 3' jumping and 2nd level dressage range. Will also do Hunters respectably, but not a daisy cutter mover (more round, dressagey mover). Near Charlotte, NC.

OK, I'll jump in. In Indianapolis, Indiana, I have several nice Arab and HA sport horse types in my barn that I simply don't have time for. They're green broke, meaning safe to get on (as safe as any horse ever is) but not fully trained. These are all horses I've raised myself and they have good minds and athletic bodies.

I have a riderless horse in NC...near Charlotte, but close to Winston Salem too!

My poor boy...TB 9 years (little guy..15.1) has not been in regular work for almost 2 years....he had a stifle injury and I did ride him after almost a year of lay up but then I have gotten really busy with my youngster and my other horses.....he is a fun horse BUT you must be a very good rider as I am sure he will be a handfull bringing him back into work....spoiled by the pasture life! He has shown hunters and jumpers (can jump THE MOON!) and when he is in work he is first level dressage he would probably LOVE to event with the right person (and I would be happy to let him...as long as he remains at home)....he would love to have someone come ride him....he gets very jealous when I ride the others...I just don't have time to ride four horses and work!

Big ol' draft horse with an attitude (stubborn) that's actually a fun ride and an unbroke coming 2-yr-old QH need extra attention and riding (when the time comes for the two-year-old!).

I didn't do this on the other thread because there are so few posters in my area but what harm can it do?
I wouldn't mind some more saddle time if someone has a horse who needs it in DE (Kent or Sussex Counties) or MD (probably Caroline, Dorchester, Talbot, Wicomico...)
I have my own horse, but lately I've been riding by myself, and I miss the company of other horse people. It would be great if someone who has more horses than time would like a riding companion. Unfortunately, I do work days M-F, but might be able to ride early evenings (if/when we have enough daylight) and weekends.

And I wouldn't mind having a horse just to groom. I am willing to drive about 45 minutes, maybe a little over. Hrm, what else to include. I am going to give this another try. I was successful the last time, but the drive to Martinsburg after work (45 minutes in 5:00 traffic), the drive home afterwards (1 hr and 15 min2) and lessons in the indoor at the time I could ride really did not work out for me very well. Thanks to Synyrgystyk and her horse Spice! He is a wonder big boy and I wish it was spring! Also thanks to TSB for the offer (also in Martinsburg).

Anyway, maybe if I am more specific...I am a good rider who is out of shape (3 years away from riding). I have competed in eventing (novice) and competed in dressage in First Level and trained up to Second. I am looking for someone in the Winchester area with lights or indoor. Anyone out there?

I need to play! DAYTON, OH area

Han/TB cross. 13 y/o, 17.2 - a big bay boy.
Work ethic of WB but spirit of TB. Would not pass vet check as he was a rescue. Trained thru 2nd level. If you can load him you can have him. He DOES NOT want to be a pasture ornament - he needs a job and I can't give him one. He's a good boy with the look of eagles in his eye.

I'm in ontario canada so I'm doubting I'll have any interest but for the hell of it, my ready-for-prelim horse is looking a partboarder. Shes bored of training and just LOVES eventing - I doubt I'll have the finances to campaign both beasties at prelim. She'd pack someone around pretraining, or upgrade with someone more experienced.

emcallaway or any other Atlanta metro riders -

I have 2 horses that could use a little extra attention. 1 yearling paint filly that loves to be groomed and paid attention to. Any help with finishing up her clipper training would be much appreciated (too busy to give her the time she needs).
I also have a 1st/somedays 2nd level OTTB that could use an extra ride a week. He requires someone who knows what they're doing, dressage wise as he is very sensitive and atune to rider balance and aids. Would love to trade 'eyes on the ground' time with someone!

Good thing I opened this thread. I thought it was about something else! Located in NY - my little 1/2 arab (15.2 hands but fine boned) gelding who has successfully competed (95% of the time retiring on his dressage score) up to Training level and has hunter paced through his whole life. Has only known one owner (me) and would make an excellent pleasure trail riding horse. I got a new horse last year and I hate seeing him not getting any attention. I wouldn't mind having him free leased to a good home even for a few months. If anyone is interested in more information PT me. No health problems ever and an easy keeper. After one year of not being able to give him the attention I used to, it just pains me to see him not getting any.

OK, I wanna play too....

Riderless horse -- Mostly-retired half-arab gelding, turning 26(!) in February, 15 hands, sound and safe, in great shape and looks 10 years younger than he is. Shown in Pleasure and low hunters and jumpers, has hunted and hunter paced, great on trails, loves to be groomed and loved on. He would make a lovely pleasure horse for a petite adult. He's really happiest when he's got some sort of a job.

We're in western Hunterdon County, NJ. His current home has a nice outdoor and beautiful indoor and is a very quiet barn.

Okay, who needs a pony?

Gorgeous 14hh (could be 14.1, but I prefer to be cautious) dun mare. Very fancy, fab mover, could do Euro pony jumpers, sweet as anything. Is however a rescue case and needs to be treated properly (no whip, period) and wants a small adult or experienced teenager. Is in no way dangerous. Broken in over the summer and turned away. I intended to sell her on but fell in love and want to keep her for my son (who is 3 http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif ). Located in NorCal but if a San Diego area resident wanted to lease her (care only), would ship her down and even throw in free lessons if needed. She's coming down anyway as I will ride her myself, but I'd rather find someone who wants to ride and show.

I am going to give this a whirl...

I am a horseless rider here in Kansas City. Up until I became pregnant and had my first baby I was riding a few event horses out here. I have evented through training level, pony clubbed through C3, and shown hunters on the A circuit. I had 3 horses before college, but don't have the funds for that now. (my husband is in medical school) I would love to ride just a couple of days a week - if there is anyone out there with a need.

Also, I love working with greenies and horses that need work.

I've got one for you EMCallaway!!! The woman I board with has a 16-year old Black Tennessee Walker mare who needs you.

Sabella (aka "Bell") is literally bomb proof. She was trained with the Atlanta Mounted PD and was used for the Olympics. She is almost 17 hands and built like a truck (very classic Walker).

Her owner only wants $50 a month to help cover hay & grain. You can pretty much ride as often as you like. Besides, me and the App get lonely riding by ourselves.

We don't have any fancy barn. We're country people. The horses share the pasture 24/7 with 3 1/2 goats (and another on the way soon). We have miles and miles of logging trails to ride in, tho. Very quiet and private.

E-mail me at seauten@earthlink.net for more details if you're interested.

I've been riding somewhat sporadically for the last 8 months or so, but I don't think it would take long to get back where I was. I rode mostly hunters, some lower-level dressage, a little cross country, lots of trailriding, mostly babies or unmade horses. I've jumped to 3'6", but that was a couple years ago. I'll come out and love on horses too. I don't show, but I would appreciate any opportunity to improve my riding and my horsemanship. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I will ride anything and have a good reputation at the barn for being able to stick. I live in manassas but ride in nokesville. I can drive to other areas.

If you're nervous about letting someone else ride your horse, I'm willing to ride only during lessons. That would actually work out great if your horse jumps, since my trainer's schoolhorse only does dressage, and I'd like to do both. Ack! Why didn't I see this thread before!

SUFFOLK COUNTY NY

I've got seven horses who need riding (not my own), on a beautiful big farm: outdoor sand ring, track, and (when they aren't hunting there) gorgeous trails.
A dressager would be MOST welcome, to ride the very sweet Andalusian. There's also a QH hunter, another QH, and four very broke very quiet polo ponies.

You'd probably have to ride with me, at least at first, as this is a private farm. But I'm here all the time, so that's easy!

Please PT me if you're interested!

Beautiful full-of-herself wonderful mare needs more attention in Hollywood CA!

I only get out a few times a week. I board at a trail barn, there are 54 miles of trails, and my mare was (before her injury and then mine) schooling first level. However, she's a blast to ride whether it's on trails or in the ring or whatever, and would love someone to come adore her and give her carrots. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Having pretty much abandoned riding (but not my love of horses) after graduating from college in 1992, I am now riding again thanks to the "horseless riders" thread, BB member Janet and her wonderful Mr. Spy. It's great to be back in the saddle!

The horse is coming 5 and green so he will need an intermediate rider but he is calm, sane and really cute. Nice walk/trot and just beginning canter. Jumping experience a plus because I think he will make an excellenter hunter. PT if interested.

ANYONE NEAR ROME GA?

I have several horses and ponies that need riding, and some TLC. Though I don't have a ring, I have plenty of nice flat fields to school in, 500 acres of trails - with tons m9ore ajoining our farm - including a trail that runs along side the Etowah River that is an old Civil War railroad bed, and has awsome footing. We have 3 lakes, and old dairy barn with 2 12X14 stalls, a tack room, feed room, and a large paddock, as well as to very large 4 board fenced in fields that the horses are in. I am stil working on building some jumps, but with some weekend help, I'm sure we could solve that problem. Oh, and this is NOT a "come board at my farm? ad. Actually it is a private farm that my husband and I manage, and while anyone is welcoem to come ride with me, we are not allowed to take on any boarders etc. Here are the horses that we have:

Vow- 14 year old NZ TB. 17 hands. He has done everything. He is wonderful at Dressage, is a seasoned Eventer, and has even foxhunted and shown on the A circuit as a Jumper, but will still gladly trail ride on the buckle. He LOVES to be brushed and loved on, I just don't have the time that he deserves.

Lexie- 3 year old arab/QH roan/grey pony. She is such a sweetie, and will be starting her under saddle work this spring. I would love some help ponying her, and being ground person when I start backing her. She also LOVES attention and to be brushed.

Maggie 4 year old 14.3 hand TB filly. She is a home gronwn that I bred and raised myself. Though she is only greenbroke, she is easy enough for a Jr to ride. I think her calling is to be a pony club horse, or maybe an eventer, but for now, I am just enjoying putting more training in her. She goes in a snaffle, and is just a doll to work with - not mareish at all. She woudl LOVE someone to spoil and love on her.

Happy - 13.3 6 year old pony mare. She is one that I rescued as a 3 year old, and will never be sold, lol. Since she had such a rocky start she is still a bit green, but is still an easy ride. I showed her in her first show a few months ago, and though she had only jumped crossrails and a few 2 ft verticles, she did 3 two ft courses, with coupes, oxers, and scary flowers, and never looked at a thing. She is wonderful to trail ride, and has even been used as a lesson pony for a few months. Though kids look great on her, she is stocky enough for most adults as well - I am 5'5 and 140 ( http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif) and I fit her just fine.

Hank - Standardbred saddlebred. He is a BLAST to ride! He is 5 gaited, so will walk trot and canter like any horse, but on command will also do a fast and slow rack. He is fine ridden in either a western or english saddle, though he does not neck rein. He is also a seasoned driving horse, and LOVES to be drivven through the farm on our old Amish 4 person buggy.

I also have several western and english trained trail horses. They are very sweet, and as all rack but one - a QH - they are super smooth.

If anyone is interested in riding with me, or just simply brushing and giving them TLC, please either email me or send me a PT.

We also have 3 pet calves which are like overgrown dogs, and loved to be loved on :-)

I probobly have enough to ride at home (but would never turn down an offer for an extra ride a few times =D), but I'd love to catchride or something of the sort at shows. I'll do local through A circuit and do have show experience. Been riding six - seven years or so, mostly hunters for five years though I have eq experience along with that. I can ride the large ponies and up, and the rounder mediums. I'd also just warm up at the shows for you if you were busy in another ring. And just because I live for the horses and not only the riding .. I'd be willing to come along and groom if you wanted.

I'd be willing to chip in some of the show fees, too if I got to show your horse / pony, and I'm willing to travel for shows though I'm located in Apex, NC about 20 min. from Raleigh.

Horseless in Raleigh, NC- I am currently in between horses. I have ridden small ponies through 16.2 hand horses. I have a pony that is being leased out for probably about six months [lease to buy], and am going to move up from a medium pony to a horse. Although I do own a pony I ride horses all the time, even the green ones that spook left and right. http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/lol.gif I think we all have ridden a few of those. I will get on anything and appreciate any ride I can get. I have been riding for at least six years and had training in several different disciplines. I am looking to find a jumper for my next horse, but since my last ride was a hunter pony I want a good amount of time on horses before I go looking. I would look for primarily a hunter but spent six months on a strong jumper pony also. Other than that I am also willing to hack a horse of any discipline.

I can come anywhere around the Raleigh area to come ride at your barn or can board a horse until I find one I can buy.

Hi,
I lost all my horses an a horrid horse deal with a dishonest pro trainer and do not wish to go into it detail you can check out my other post in hunter-jumper section if you so desire.

I am now disabled with, advanced sarcoidosis, (which is a lung based disease), and I have enlarged lymph nodes that require surgery for biopsy, I have been waiting forever through the county health care system!

I rode on the A'3 circuit for about 25 years, I am 41 yrs now. I showed hunters and jumpers and my last coach while still showing was Margie Engle.
I have a solid 3rd level dressage background and base. My last volunteer position was at the late Joan T. Peyton's dressage trak horse farm in Upperville, Virginia.

I am on prednisone medication and have gained weight so I need a big horse or a small heavy weight horse. I am only 5'3".
Right now I would love to just hack at walk and trot and build back up to cantering. I worked a lovely green 16.3 4 yr old Trak son of Tarim in 2000 in Upperville. I can ride a green horse. I do best on sensitive chestnut horses that are nervous or rear and I am not a great rider on horses that tend to buck a lot. However, I can stay on all but rank horses.
I am hoping someone out there has a nice warmblood or draft cross for me to hack around on. Something out in the pasture that needs to get in shape just like me, as I have been out to pasture now for two years, or something young that needs lots of flatwork.

I am very good at basic and advanced ground work and or free longing and would be willing to exchange longing, round pen work, free longe arena work, and or ground driving babies in exchange for some riding time. I am expereinced in all equipment but most important I have good hands and can make a horses mouth from the ground with just a pair of reins, and I have enough knowledge to know when a horse is about to blow up and when to stop to prevent accidents. In addition to Warmbloods I am very good with Arabians and Thoroughbreds.

Your horse will get the benefit of prof level riding and schooling for free, and of course I miss brushing and bathing a horse and all of that bonding care, especially feeding lots of carrots! I have all my own equipment including a "real" stubben saddle from germany and a custom made Pratt (Baltimore company) close contact jumping saddle, I love it because it has a dressage panel under a smooth flap. It is a real steel spring-tree too which are so expensive now.

I hope to hear from you and your wonderful horse. I can be called at 703-922-0297 or 703-971-7453 or emailed at charrison4@cox.net
I live in Alexandria Virginia and am willing to travel to Maryland in areas convenient and within 30 miles of the Woodrow Wilson bridge argh!! and to Great Falls, Leesburg, Middleburg, Upperville, Virginia etc.

Thank you all for reading this post.

pt me or email me for my complete riding resume. I have ridden with Margie Engle, Mark and Peter Leone, Linda Oliver, Foxcroft School (ms. Margaret Lee), coached by George at Baltimore Invitational, etc.....

I have a horse in Garner, NC that needs some work during the weekdays- preferably in the afternoons and NOT around feeding time http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif (I can get out there on the weekends).

He's a 16 hand Appendix QH gelding who needs an ADVANCED rider. He's broke, but needs a lot of extra work (hadn't been ridden for over a year). I actually am hoping to sell him to someone who has the time to train him to jump, but until then he needs a lot of work on the ground and extra loving.

He goes english and western, but I only ride him english right now. If anyone in the Raleigh/Garner area is interested please let me know- he's at a nice barn right now that has an indoor & outdoor ring, round pen, jumps available, and some trails (also needs work out on the trail http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif).

I have a riderless horse in Orange County, CA in need of some TLC. He is 10 year old Oldenburg gelding, 16.3 hands, quiet, sweet, easy. Needs someone to ride him hacking, trails, maybe some low jumping about 3 times a week.

Hi! I'm Sundance and I live in Utah. I'm 22 years young, and my mom doesn't love me any more since she got that nasty big gray horse! (not true - I do) And now I'm hearing rumors of another horse, What's up with that??? Anyway, I did hunter my whole life until about a year ago when my mom decided I was getting too old to jump (HA - what does SHE know?) and so now I'm doing quite nicely at western pleasure (showed at the state fair last year!). I would love someone to play with me once in a while if there's anyone in Utah who'd like to come by and see me?

If things get better with age, I'm nearing perfection!

Excellent, excellent thread! Horseless rider here-

I've been a long time lurker, coming out to post in this thread... I'm currently between horses. I've married, moved, switched jobs, and then lost my job in the past six months. I'm an experienced, intermediate rider and am looking to ride ANYthing in the Kalamazoo, Paw Paw, Oshtemo, Michigan areas. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif I've got lots of time and lots of love to give. I've ridden english pleasure, western, and basic dressage.

Can anyone hook me up? My e-mail is in my profile!

My boy Bear still needs someone to love and ride him. He is cute as a button, easy to hack, but knows his stuff for a more sophisticated rider. Loves to jump. And loves hugs and treats. Here is his picture.

He just had his first "after the winter" bath. spring has sprung and da Bear is ready to get into summertime shape. Come help me get him going!

LH, you're right, I did not see you're original post. I just found this board in Jan, so this is the only horseless/riderless thread that I have seen.

I'm actually not horseless anymore, I adopted a TB from ReRun a few weeks ago. This is him: Mugs (http://community.webshots.com/album/126664986WRYDqo) He's been keeping me pretty busy, but even though the vet said I could do some light riding with him, I'm giving him plenty of time to settle in, put some weight on, and grow back all of his hair. And I want to do some ground work with him before I get on him.

So, I would love to come ride your guy sometime http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/yes.gif I've been riding a draft X a few times for a friend of mine, but I'm sure she's going to want to take over riding him soon, now that the weather is getting better and she is almost recovered from a fracture in her neck http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

My newest stallion Sempatico would love a USDF young rider to ride him, he has an excellent temperament and even I can ride him http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif but unfortunately as breeding season is getting more and more hectic I haven't had as much time as I like too and he is board silly. With his temperament I see him just getting along great with a young rider. He currently cannot be at his trainers barn since he must stay here for his breeding duties. We have a great facility located in Northern, VA with indoor arena, full outside dressage ring, etc. He is a fabulous dressage horse and if the situation is right would love to "sponsor" a young rider with show expenses, training/lessons etc. Could be an excellent opportunity for someone without the horse/finances to peruse their talents.

I have a riderless large pony in Leesburg, VA.

She's 5 years old, 14.1 1/2. FANCY, big stride, easy changes, very honest. She's done the greens at a couple of A shows in PA, but we're looking for a rider closer to this area. She needs a quiet rider. Anyone up for trying to get an awesome pony qualified for Finals? (All showing expenses paid) We'd also like to move up to the regulars with her to try to get her qualified for Devon next year.

Bonstet, sorry wish I could help, but I'm no longer a junior. Alright I guess I need to join as a horseless rider. I'm located here in Northern Va Loudoun to be exact. I'm a college student still living at home.I have been showing since I was 9. I have re-trained a few green ponies (caught some catch rides as well), and I have evented and taken dressage training when I was younger. For the last 4 years I have been solely doing hunters with a professional trainer. I really just need something to play with, I don't care about going to shows. I would be quite happy just coming out and hacking horses to keep them in shape. My only request is that any horse I am asked to ride is safe and sound. If necessary I can provide references for my riding ability as well as my character http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

I work at an eventing riding school in Mebane, NC (15 mins west of Chapel Hill). We are looking for several horses to lease to be apart of our staff horses. These horses get ridden 2-3x/day 3-5 days per week (depending on there fit into our program). This is a great opportunity for anyone that needs a temporary home for their horse, because they do not have the time or money to invest in them. Our staff horses get worked by our head and assistant trainer regularily (so they get to continue their education as well) and there is the possibility that the horses could be shown by one of our eventing teams.

These horses do not need to have eventing experience. They need to be proficient at W/T/C with no major health issues. Preferrably nothing over 16hh (we want ponies too). Anything with jumping experience and/or dressage experience would be wonderful!

Thanks

I have two in ROME GEORGIA:

Happy - 13.3 hand 6 year old bay pony mare - Shetland/QH cross. Loves to jump, and will not stop. Has been used for lessons, and has been in one show - did 2 ft courses, and never looked at a thing. Is just starting to get her auto changes. Is jumping 2'3 courses, ready to move up. Clips, loads, bathes, trail rides. Goes quietly in a corkscrew snaffle. She was my first anniversary present, and I am not really interested in selling, but I would like to find someone to show her for a year. She is as low maintenance as they come - is fine turned out 24/7, doesn't need shoes, doesn't need grain, doesn't need to be blanketed, has no vices, and has never been lame.

Nemo - 6 year old Grey, Shetland pony - I haven't measured him, I just know he comes to my waste. He is a beautiful dappled gray color, with black legs, muzzle and around the eyes, and has a very dainty almost Arab head. he is my son's pony, never to be sold, however, the woman I got him from never did much of anything with him, so he is a bit spoiled - though she did say she sent him off for a year of Driving training. She says he is broke, and has had kids riding him, but my son is only two, so I would like to find a SS kid to ride him. I don't think he has ever jumped, but I don't see why he wouldn't be great at it. I would ether let someone lease him - and Happy - at my farm, or possibly at a nearby one, for a year. Please email me if you are interested in either of these ponies, and I will give you my cell phone number.

I have a very talented but very "special" 16.2 hand big bodied 3/4 TB 1/4 QH gelding in upstate SC. He needs an equally "special" rider.

He had been passed around a good bit in his life, and I'm the eight person to own the horse, who is just now turning 10. Poor guy. He is very sensitive, but quite athletic. Lovely mover, very huntery (sire was Encoriva) and is probably best suited to doing the hunters. I bought him and tried to event him, but I think its not the job for him. He needs a quiet and tactful rider. He has an occassional wicked spook in him although he's normally a blast to trail ride and hack... http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/sigh.gif

I get frustrated with him when I ride him, and I'm also a little bit scared of him, so he's a pasture pet currently, as I have my mare that I'm campaigning heavily instead.

If there is anyone interested in a project horse let me know. I would be willing to do a free lease sort of arrangement, preferably at our farm, but for they right situation, he could go live at another. I can email pictures of him if anyone is interested.

_ANYONE NEAR ROME GA?_

I have just notified my husband that we are moving to near Rome,Ga. Sounds like heaven to me!
Best Wishes from Kansas!

_Vow_- 14 year old NZ TB. 17 hands. He has done everything. He is wonderful at Dressage, is a seasoned Eventer, and has even foxhunted and shown on the A circuit as a Jumper, but will still gladly trail ride on the buckle. He LOVES to be brushed and loved on, I just don't have the time that he deserves.

_Lexie_- 3 year old arab/QH roan/grey pony. She is such a sweetie, and will be starting her under saddle work this spring. I would love some help ponying her, and being ground person when I start backing her. She also LOVES attention and to be brushed.

_Maggie_ 4 year old 14.3 hand TB filly.

_Happy_ - 13.3 6 year old pony mare.

_Hank_ - Standardbred saddlebred.

She's green, and needs an experienced rider with a firm hand.. She tries to pull that Warmblood thing, 'oh, I think I'm gonna spook... Hmmm... Waittt... Ok, here I go... :raise head and spin around: Tada!' She's really willing though, just needs a rider to show her what she's supposed to do, and what she's not supposed to do. She's an 8 year old, 17hand (maybe 17.1), Holsteiner/Oldenburg mare and right now we're just trying to get basics down, along with ground manners. Anyone interested? She sounds like a handful, which she can be at times, but she is a sweety! (Pictures in my signature) Anyone, anyone????

Charlottesville Virginia area - mature rider will ride your horse for you. Prefer no greenies as I have one at home, thank you. I need to stay in shape to keep up with him and my other mounts are lame or otherwise unavailable at the moment. I can ride weekday mornings or early afternoons. Gentle, kind, will provide references, can bring one of my own (choose from three!) saddles. 434-923-3798

I have a Riderless horse near Gainsville, FL. (High Springs to be exact.)

He cribs, so you have to be able to deal with that, but he's an experienced children's hunter, just a bit out of practice. Anyone from beginner/intermediate to advanced can ride him, give me a callhttp://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif (386) 569-6761

If you want a free lease at your place, I can accomadate that as long as you provide transportation.

I have two horses that I could use help with in the Bay Area of Northern California (Oakland Hills). They are both NZ TB geldings and could use some extra attention. Primarily I am looking for someone to help me work them on the flat or go out on the trails with, although at a later date jumping might be an option. One has evented through Intermediate and is pretty well-schooled in dressage, but can have a bit of a spook. The younger one has just done a few Novice events but is pretty quiet.

Babs, my horse is up in Orange County. He's broke and needs attention. He keeps giving me this forlorn sad look when I put the other one on the trailer. Especially since hunting season is over and I'm full swing into the eventing season. My poor boy needs affection!

10 YO QH Geldings, Montevallo, AL.

One is fun and full of buttons and go without being the least bit stupid. Goes western but I'm not opposed to him being ridden english.

One is sluggy and sweet and turns like a boat. Will mooch beer and gladly hangs around while sweet Mr. Katarine fumbles to apply his halter to his head. Goes western, he too can go english if someone is so inclined.

Don't bother to reply if you're going to spaz on me that both are in the neighbors borrowed field behind barbed wire. I ain't got no fancy riding pen or (snork) indoor, so unless your good enough to hack out on quiet dirt roads and hunting trails, you need not apply http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I have a horse in Newnan, GA who could use a rider. I don't get out to ride her enough (2 times a week) and she loves a good ride. Her Favorite things in the world are a good hand gallop and jumping! http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I will have to get Freebird to write up what kind of horse she is, I am not good at it, I think she is perfect, and we all know that isn't possible! http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/lol.gif

I have a horseless rider. She is a friend from school and will be moving up to the NoVa/D.C. area (Arlington I think) since she graduates in a couple weeks. She isn't from the area, so she has no clue on where to go, so I said I would ask around.

She is interested in getting back into the jumpers, but really just wants some riding time. She is open to any type of riding (as far as taking lessons or riding a greenie and everything inbetween). She is a really nice girl and a good rider, also. She is willing to travel, so that isn't as much of a concern (I have already told her she will probably have to go out to the Middleburg area).

Thanks!

My daughter is horseless (had to put her horse down last week http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/cry.gif). We're in the Seattle area. She rode a leased horse in the Jr. hunters and Eq last year, but still loves to ride ponies, even though she's aged out and 5'7". She plans to ride IHSA this next year.

Hmmm, let's see...I'll try to be nice here.... She is a total fruit cake, has to go in a tack nose band, draw reins, martingale, and spurs, and oh yea, LOTS of Ace. http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/yes.gif Oh but she' IS pretty fun to ride...if you get liqured up before hand that is, LOL.

JUUUSSSST KIDDING...I am so witty tonight? Aren't you laughing Ash?? OK, the REAL Parade, is a BLAST to ride - sober :-) and is just a total GEM of a horse that I have been privleged enough to have been able to ride a few times. She is absolutly beautiful, and doesn't have a mean bone in her bodyt. Though a beginner could ride her, she - like most TB's I know - goes a lot better for intermed. or above. As her Mommy says, "you have to always have a bit of Parade in your hands." She is NOT a horse you can - or would ever want to - pick a fight with, but is fine with a short "prayer meeting" (that's what I call them, lol) SHe does tend to get on her forhand, and plow right on, but it isn't for a lack of talent. She would just us humans carry her. http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/winkgrin.gif Amazingly though, no matter how she approaches a jump - on her forhand, too fast, too slow, crooked... - she WILL go over, and will somehow make it all work. I also LOVE her her round jump. I coudl really go on and on about her. Heck, I love ANY horse that will put up with me riding them, but I think Parade is extra special! I'd say anyone with in an hour radius of Newnan/Sharpsburg oughtta take Parade's mommy up on her kind offer http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/yes.gif

Freebird! That is too funny, and I am laughing! http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/lol.gif

And I like how you put her tendancy to run on the forehand as her wanting us to carry her around, I have always just called it plain laziness! http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/lol.gif She is such a goof!

As for her jumping, she is a great teacher for how to ride a round jump and if she really likes you she will save your A$$. She sure saved mine many a times when I screwed up coming to, over or after a jump. http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I do need someone who can help me work on her forehand problem. I LOVED watching Freebird ride her! She is so much better a rider than I.

You need to come back down soon!

If anyone has any horses in Washington state that need to be ridden (Central Wash.) or shown (all Wash.) I would gladly do it. I am a junior, and have mostly ridden the ponies (pretty short @ 5 foot). Done hunters, equitation, and jumpers. Am experianced, and can ride greenies, and basically just want all the experiance I can get.

Southern California (90274 zip code). 17 hand TB gelding, 13 yr.s, looking for a friend to get him fit again and then? Former eventer and hunter. Fun horse but not for beginner rider due to issues that developed in last home after which I repurchased him.

Horseless at the end of June. I live in central VA. I work a weird schedule so I can ride during the week days and week ends.

I currently lease a horse and show in the A/A hunters.

I do not mind green as long as they are not crazy. I would like a free lease or just the opportunity to ride a few days a week.

Ok....well, I will reluctantly put myself up as a horseless rider from Baltimore again. My current situation is thus: I ride for a great trainer who has a lot of her own (sale) horses that she doesn't have time to do, because she teaches and has a bunch of client horses in training. I get to ride some really amazing and fun horses, from green babies to jumpers, I get to jump frequently, and her barn and the surrounding area are gorgeous. She's even mentioned that I could show if I wanted to!

Ok, you are thinking, what the heck is the problem, you big baby? Well, I live 70 miles away from her barn! The gas prices are killing me, my car is an old Volvo wagon with almost 240,000 miles on it, and when I want to ride, I have to take the entire day to do it, and to make sure the weather is nice out there before I go, or I'll get there and just have to turn around and go back home. If I don't plan my timing just right, I can get stuck in Frederick rush hour, northern DC rush hour, or Baltimore rush hour. I generally only get out there twice a week- although lately the weather and my own hectic life has meant no riding whatsoever.

I couldn't ask for a better situation- except for the long, inconvenient distance. I don't want to stop riding there, I love being able to help her out and I get so much out of it, but looking ahead to this long, hot summer and rising gas prices- I just don't know if I can do it! Luckily, she now has a few juniors who are helping to do some of her extras, so I don't feel quite as bad about trying to find something else.

Soo....what I am looking for is something similar to what I have with her, but closer. I know that is a lot to ask, but I'm really hoping I can find it because this drive is killing me, and I just don't get to ride enough. If I could, I'd ride five days a week- or more! I can hack and jump, I know basic dressage stuff, I've ridden tons of greenies (had three of my own as a junior that I eventually showed Large J's at the A shows with), and I'll ride anything as long as it isn't nuts. The problem is that I've been spoiled- the horses I ride now are all pretty nice, and many of them are for sale as show horses, so I guess what I'm looking for is someone who needs an extra pair of hands to school her hunter/jumpers. I am not as much in shape now as I was before winter hit (no indoor where I ride now), but if I ride more often, that will change. I'm a pretty capable rider, and when I was a junior, I was quite good- so I think I can get that back with steady riding.

If you could use someone like me- not a superstar but a good, solid rider really wanting to whip herself back into shape- please pt me! I'm a Ph.D. student at home writing her dissertation, so my hours are very flexible, and my only caveats are that you are considerably closer than 70 miles (again, I'm in Baltimore) and you have at least a couple of nice h/j horses that need me! http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You can take a line and say it isn't straight- but that wont change its shape. Jets to Brazil
