I am going to be competing in my first show with my horse on Sunday so I am in the middle of filling out the entry fee. It's been a few years so I need my memory refreshed. As an amateur, can I complete and sign the trainer section or does my trainer have to complete it? Years ago, I was told since you are an adult, you can sign your name under the trainer section.

Thanks. :)

If your trainer has care, custody, and control of your horse, your trainer needs to sign that blank. There are certain responsibilities and expectations on the trainer that has to do with responsibility of meds and such, so you need to have your trainer sign. If your trainer doesn't have care, custody, and control of your horse then s/he needs to sign as coach.

I always sign as trainer as I have control of my horses feeding and medicating ( or rather NO medications)

Trainer has nothing to do with who teaches you or your horse.
